This ink often printed well the first time. I started with very small batches and hung them on a hanger in the garage for a day then tossed them in the clothes dryer before they went into use. If you get into more than a hobby you might consider dropping this ink and move onto a water-based ink by union ink. I went from speedball ink to Union's ATEX-8000-Q. It comes with a catalyst that cures the ink so you don't have to worry about washout. It's also cheaper in the long run. I quickly switched to plastisol inks and invested in all the equipment to go full scale. If it wasn't for this kit I never would have gotten started at all! Good luck with your screen-printing adventure! **Q: Is the ink plastisol or water based?** A: It's water based, which means you can heat set it with an iron and parchment paper. Look for the steam! **Q: Are the transparencies re-useable. Sorry if a stupid question, I'm new to this.** A: No not really but transparencies are pretty cheap. I got a hundred pack for like $15 on Amazon **Q: Speedball transparencies i find on amazon have “inkjet” in the title, but the instructions indicate laser printing is required. any recommendations?** A: Great question. Artwork created on either laser or inkjet transparencies will work with this kit. But the caps weren't fully tightened on some of the inks, the seal was intact so there was no spillage whatsoever. I bought another speedball neon ink set to use with this kit. The neon ones had some spilled ink due to the soft package it was sent in, and probably got squeezed while in transit. Please use hard boxes for every packaging.
