Don't expert a piece of plastic garbage, it's made out of very solid material, as everything was in the 1940's, the air that comes out is surprisingly cool, true it doesn't blow your hair away, but as I did say it's pleasantly cool. We've got a very old 1970's big fan (ugly)with four settings, this blows more vigourously, but the air that comes out is less cool, than the Jr. Vintage. It's perfect for the small table next to my bed, enough to get by on a hot summer day, even on the lower setting. I'm pretty sure one can't find a fan so beautiful & efficiënt for this kind of price. The only slightly negative thing I possibly could come up with is that the fan isn't totally silent, but the noise is very acceptabele, honestly! Nowadays I know about a fan almost totally silent costing 5 times the price and very ugly. Honestly this little fan is extremely stylish. By the way people living in Europe who want to buy this have to bear in mind that in the U.S. it's 120V. you''ll have to buy a very small transformer more or less the size of mobile phone adaptor, easily found on the internet. (220V towards 110V). This is inexpensive realy, around 10 euro. If not bang!!! Regret a lot, something so beautiful could go to pieces, only a small handiness to prevent it from happening. Also the plug in system is different but it's all on the small adaptor. You have to buy your fan first and then see on the internet what you need, easy you'll see, if not sure ask the online shop to be on the safe side. A: It is not just a fan, it is actually a time machine. Once it reaches the warp speed it disappears, so don't stand nearby
or you go with it.. into the 50's you go..

**Q: do any vornado fans have ball bering motors? almost all simple fans do not and become worthless after about two years of use**
A: The Vornado Circulators that have ball bearings in the motors are the models: VFan, VFan Jr, VFan Sr, 723, 733, 743 , 783, 293HD, 5303DC, 610DC and 723DC.

**Q: My husband and i like to keep a fan on at night as white noise. does the vfan jr. sized fan provides white noise or is it pretty quiet?**
A: This fan has 2 speeds, high is very quiet, low you can hardly tell it's running on low.  On its hi setting, it would be perfect as white noise.   I, however, use this one's bigger brother in the bedroom, and this smaller one on my office desk.  Big brother [Vornado VFAN Sr. Pedestal Vintage Air Circulator Fan, Vintage White].   These exude quality in everything about it.  As someone who's used a fan for sleeping since I was a kid (50+ years), I am sure these fans will outlast me.

**Q: How can i clean the blades? Thanks**
A: You can use a screwdriver to remove the front grill to access the blade for cleaning.  Pages 12 and 13 in the owner's manual have diagrams showing this process.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ High quality, cool looking fan.

Vornado is a great brand; I've had several of their fans over the years and this lives up to my expectations. The reto look is really cool! It looks great on the end table in my living room. I wanted a small fan but I didn't think I would find one this neat looking. You can tip it so it's facing up to circulate the air in the room, or point it forward to blow on you like you would with a normal fan. The breeze can be put on a mellow setting or you can turn it to a brisk one. It's very effective. The fan is very quiet which some people don't like because they want it to make white noise for sleeping. I would agree if that was my purpose, but since it's in my living room I appreciate the way it's silent. All the moving parts, including the function that allows you to point the fan where you want, are very smooth and solid. They're a good indicator of the high quality of it. My only complaint is that the switch to turn it on or adjust the speed, is on the back which means you have to reach way around, or turn the fan to use it. That's a real pain in the butt, but it's not a deal breaker. Overall, I really recommend the Vornado fan!
