I set the date and time, and then formatted the microSD card, which all took seconds to do. Will this drain my battery?** A: If you are using the auxiliary power socket (the cigarette lighter) then your camera will turn off a moments after you switch off your ignition. The internal battery is still functioning that is why you can see the red light. Your vehicle battery will not be drained as a result. I bought this device to provide evidence should I be involved in a collision, I purchased a high endurance memory card to go with this camera. It is simple to use. The instruction manual is clear and concise. The picture quality is good even in low light. You can record in 720p or 1080p resolution. Recording times are dependant on which memory card you use (16/32GB) together with the recording resolution. You can loop record in 1,2,3, or 5 minute segments. You can adjust the exposure value to brighten or darken recordings. There is a date stamp facility, a motion detector when on standby together with audio on or off. It does not have the any additional features you would find on more expensive devices i.e speed, or GPS. This device does what the label says it does.
