Always buy them in bulk for sleeping whilst travelling. They don’t block out everything but they certainly help against street noise and snoring roommates. The odd one is occasionally not so effective for some reason and doesn’t swell to completely fit my ear after being compressed but that is rare. Just roll between your fingers, insert well into the ear and hold for a few seconds while they expand.
