Bad Decisions Make the Best Stories
This book was really good. Kylie Lord is 25 year old who runs Decadent Darlings in Atlanta. Her Aunt Leigh started the business but she has breast cancer and gave it to her neice to take over. She runs the business, it is a lovely store that finds and sells vintage and wonderful clothes that are hard to find or one of a kind. Since college, she's been in love with Trent Moss who she met her freshman year. Trent is a big time humanitarian who wants to make the world a better place. He's always off in other countries trying to get them fresh water and such. He and Kylie have been best friends. Trent and Dray were foster brothers and the only family they ever had together. Since she was great friends with Trent, Dray always came to holidays to spend with her family with him. Kylie and Dray have been "enemies" since college. Everytime they are together, Dray is always saying sexually crude things to Kylie. Dray is a professional football player and bachelor. He's with girls for a short time and most of the time he doesn't let them stay at his place the night. Kylie's best friend is Madison and she's something else. She's the daughter of Brian Reid who was a R&B Singer but now a bigtime Music Producer. Madison is highly intelligent but she keeps dating these rappers that aren't very smart and don't have much to communicate. But she works for the Center for Disease Control there in Atlanta as a Bio-Medical Engineer. Madison says some crude things herself but she's the comic relief and she would do anything for Kylie. She's like Kylie's sister and very close with Kylie's family. This is a wonderful story that shows and points out that appearances aren't always what they seem. Sometimes we build people up to be so great that no one and even them cannot live up to it. No one can live up to being put on a pedestal, we are all human and no one is anywhere near being perfect. Sometimes people act certain ways and do certain things to protect themselves without even realizing it.Sometimes the bad decisions in our lives will lead us to the best things. Bad decisions make the best stories. This book is definitely worth the read.

Passion, laughter, DRAMA! Don't miss this wicked love triangle!
If I could describe Cake by Nicole Reed in one word it would be…*Clears throat and busts out my best Oprah voice*DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMA!This book has wit and sarcasm, heartbreak, and a whole lot of sexy. This is the story of a girl and her relationship with two (foster home) brothers.Kylie Lord has loved Trent Moss forever. They had a random awkward hookup in college, but beyond that their relationship has remained strictly platonic. Trent adores Kylie and considers her his best friend. She’s always willing and able to jump through whatever fiery hoops Trent presents. On the other hand, Drake Savage is the bane of Kylie’s existence. They are enemies who can be somewhat cordial to one another in public settings. Don’t let their courtesy fool you, however, their relationship is built on a lifetime of animosity.I won’t spoil the plot beyond what is written in the synopsis. Long story short, Kylie finds herself being the meat in that hot brother sandwich. Torn between the brother who uses her and the brother who wants to be used by her, Kylie must choose one or risk losing both forever.Like I said – DRAMA! I was absolutely hooked into this story from the beginning. I started out laughing and quirking an eyebrow at the naughtiness until all of a sudden I was crying and sick to my stomach. I remember thinking “WHY? Why would the author do this to me? This is just cruel!” Then it hit me. This is a book written by Nicole Reed. The same Nicole Reed who is the mastermind behind The Ruining Series. This woman has a knack for leading you down a path of happy and lighthearted. You think everything is peachy until suddenly you find yourself at a dead end cliff. Nicole Reed then mercilessly boots your ass off said cliff, sending you into an emotional free fall. I LOVE HER! No matter what book of hers I’m reading, she always takes me on a wicked roller coaster ride. Building me up, breaking me down, and leaving me with an ending so satisfying I can’t help but forget the emotional trauma she put me through. Pure genius. If you haven’t had the chance to treat yourself to Cake by Nicole Reed, get to one-clicking. This novel is a whirlwind of friendship, passion, and a whole bunch of surprise.

REALLY REALLY DIDN'T LIKE THIS BOOK...GUTTED
I so didn't like anything about this book. I'm gutted as I thought the last one I read by the same author was brilliant, so I was expecting the same standard. Where to start? It was painful...I read to the bitter end because I so wanted to like it.I really couldn't stand any of the characters, which was the main thing that made me feel so strongly about it I think. They were all so self-centered and up themselves, that I didn't care who ended up with who...they deserved each other in my opinion, and not in a positive way. I'm not averse to a bit of angst, but this went beyond the pale. As well as being shallow, it was cheesy and corny...the most negative traits in any book in my opinion. The writing felt immature, and almost as if it was a different author? The story was all over the place, skipping whole chunks, then explaining away months in a couple of paragraphs, almost as if the author was bored and couldn't be bothered...it was infuriating! I can't get over the difference in the style and standard, when comparing it with Beautiful Ink. There were spelling errors and the vocab made me cringe all the way through.I am gutted, as I was expecting so much more from this author? What happened? The only reason it isn't getting a 1 star from me is because I've read worse, but I actually hated it. There is an obvious link to another book at the end, which I most definitely will not be buying. Returned for a refund.

Cake
Hmmm disappointed with this, didn't connect with the characters and the story dragged, I have read other Nicole Reed books and enjoyed them but not this one.

Cake!
This was a great, fairly quick read, kept me hooked from start to finish! Great storyline and a major plot twist which I didn't expect!Would certainly read more from this author. I wondered after reading the Nick POV at the end, if he will be getting a book? And then I was confused as to who Madison ended up with?!Also, I would have liked the ending to be a bit longer, would have loved to have read how they got to the point in the epilogue! But overall, a really good book!

You can have your cake and eat it too
What an amazing story.. Nicole touches your heartstrings with real, flawed characters an a unpredictable plot. I laughed, cried and now I have a book hangover. My only criticism is with the sub-plot involving Madison. She absolutely needs her own story...pleeeeaseThis author is definitely on my one-click list.Thank you
