## Description

Product Description Invented in England in 1963, Lava Lamps exploded in popularity in the US in the mid 1970s and then again in the early 1990s. Today, they are still as mesmerizing as ever. Both timeless and illuminating, this Lava Lite 14.5 In. Classic Motion Lava Lamp (Yellow/Blue/Silver) will not only bring back memories, they'll help create brand new ones too. Nothing beats a classic. From the Manufacturer This is the original Lava Lamp! Lava. Its ever-changing patterns are hypnotizing, yet invigorating. It is an art form. Classic and at the same time progressive. It is pre-historic and post-modern. Lava is the core of Lava Lite. Our Lava Lamps range from small to gigantic and from subtle to overwhelming. Each Lava Lamp is filled with our hypnotizing mesmerizing lava blobatude (goo for those less technical). Simply stated, if you need lava we’ve got a lamp for every nook and cranny in your pad. You must wait 8 hours after initial plug in of your Lava Lamp for it work properly. They're perfect for relaxing, decorating, or light up a party.Troubleshooting steps : During initial warm-up of your Lava Lamp, the coil in the globe may tend to stand on end or float to the top of the globe. If this happens, keep your Lava Lamp operating for four-hours or more to allow the secret solution to become completely melted. The coil should then automatically drop to its correct position at the bottom of the globe. If the coil does not drop down, then twirl the globe GENTLY in the base and the coil will drop. Do not shake and handle with care! Note:The item works by having an 25 Watt incandescent light bulb warm wax held in a liquid. Operation is simply the turning on of a switch to light the bulb

Review: I love 💕 this lava lamp - The lamp came well packaged. I got it home put it together and turned it on waiting for the lava to melt. It’s takes about three hours to four the first time turning on before it gets going well. I’m happy with it. It’s a little cloudy but it seem like it getting clearer since it’s been on. It’s been 40 years since I have had a lava lamp . My first lava lamp was in 1970’s . I have the green wax / blue and I also have the blue water / purple wax both are on and working great. I feel like I’m back in time back in the 70’s when days were a lot cooler. And worry free..
Review: Be patient but don't leave it on for several days - When I first got it the lamp worked really great but I forgot to turn it off a couple of times so the wax won't melt properly, I'm pretty sure this is just operator error but everything about this lamp is amazing otherwise. Also be patient with it since mine took 4 hours to completely function (the picture is out of box experience)

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you keep it on all the time?**
A: The manufacturer does not recommend leaving it on 24/7, only 8-10 hours at a time.

**Q: What color is the lava really, some pics show yellow and some are showing green?**
A: If you recall your grade school art class, Yellow + Blue = Green. The wax is yellow but appears green at times through the blue water.

**Q: light bulb socked is crooked, is that the way it is supposed to be?**
A: no, maybe you can exchange item or get money back. I did not have problems with mine being crooked.

**Q: 2nd time running the lamp and all the wax started making this path to the top and not really doing what it normally would. 2 hours later the liquid level dropped and the wax is still stuck in this long glob at the top that extends to the bottom. It appears that the wax solidified abnormally and possibly air has gotten …**
A: Mine did the same thing on the second time running. I called the manufacturer. They said run it 3-4 hours a night for 3 nights. If the same, let cool and turn bottle like you turn a doorknob, to the right and then back to center. Turn on again. Now the wax moved into the long glob and came down and just sits in a ball, waiting to flow upward. I called again, they said run it 10 hours a day for 3 days--if no change, call and they will mail a new one--no need to return old one. I will begin the 10 hour run tonight(1/2/15) and post an update. It also is no longer handled by Amazon, temporarily. Better off calling LavaLamp.com-1-800-336-5282. 8-5 cst.
