It's almost like a kiddy version of Grand Theft Auto. It combines the racing of something like Mario Kart with a surrounding area that you have to explore for coins, car unlocks, and access to the next levels and races. This game has some of the most fun racing I've ever played. It lets you combine with another character and one drives and the other operates a turret. It's an incredibly fun game, on console. Its scattered mini-games spice up things and some of the cutscenes are full of ridiculously simple slapstick humor that makes me chuckle every time. Exploring the game is a fun and interesting experience with five unique worlds that are fairly large. All the worlds are connected through a central area which is where you unlock most of the cars. The attempt at going mobile on the PSP was a good idea that just didn't pan out. The controls seem strange and the load times are sometimes more than a minute. At the time this game was released the graphics were good, but in the modern day they just seem pixelated. The camera is annoying difficult to control which means a lot of the time you're jumping around blindly. This translates into an inferior gaming experience when compared with the console version of this game.I'd honestly recommend this game, even today, just not on the PSP.
