Good product EASY to safely install
Great product and easy to install. Just ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS pull the breaker on your power supply to your air conditioning unit VERY VERY IMPORTANT, BE SAFE and make SURE breaker is off... then simply take a photo of how the wires are connected to the old capacitor, then replace with this new one, snap the wires in place EXACTLY as hour photo shows, then you’re finished. Easy. This $16 part saved me the $800 service call that I’ve had to spend before. And this capacitor works great!

SOLVED
I had a slow fan startup on my 5 year old Goodman unit. After researching the possible causes, I determined the least expensive and most probable issue was the capacitor. I got the numbers off of the old capacitor, matched them to this unit, and replaced it. TURN OFF ALL POWER: thermostat, furnace/air handler and the condenser unit itself before removing the outside cover. BE CAREFUL as these things, even when failing, can give you a jolt and a half. I took a picture of the wiring placement, disconnected the old capacitor using rubber handled pliers, and connected the new unit exactly the same. I mounted it by tightening up the metal strap (it had some different holes for sizes--the replacement was a little skinnier), and then turned on the power at the box, the thermostat and then the safety disconnect outside. The unit fired right up, the fan went right to speed, and is purring like a kitten. Amazon rocks!

So cheap and so easy to install
This is the 2nd time I have purchased this part. First time was the summer of 2016. Turned the central a/c on and the fan was not spinning. Did some research that said it could be the capacitor so for $18 I figured it couldn’t hurt to order this and hope that was the fix. Sure enough it was! No fast fwd to now summer 2023. Turned on the center a/c for the 1st time of the season. While everything was running including the fan, it just wasn’t dropping the temperature. I figured I’d give this part a try again and just like before, problem solved!! So for $18 bucks and literally less then a minute to install I’d say this is worth having to buy every few years. Last capacitor lasted 7 summers!

You can fix your own A/C
Nothing like your air conditioner going out in the middle of the night or on a weekend, and having to pay $200+ for a repairman to come out. These capacitors are usually the culprit when the outdoor unit's compressor or fan won't come on. There are numerous YouTube videos on how to replace these. I keep an extra one in the garage just in case - and had to use it one time at 10:30 at night when I was to leave on a week-long business trip the next morning. Transfer the wires from the bad to the good one at a time -"C" to "C", "HERM" to "HERM", "FAN" to "FAN". Take your time. The new capacitor may not have the same form factor as the old one, but as long as the 45/5 or 45+5 values match, you're good. And it's OK if the rated voltage on the new one is higher than the old one (440VAC vs. 370VAC). A failed capacitor doesn't always show physical signs of failure. Sometimes the top of it (where the terminals are) will look puffed up, and sometimes it will look fine. When the unit stops cooling suddenly, I try replacing the capacitor first thing. For less than $20, it's worth a shot! Just be careful if you decide to replace this part yourself - shut off all power to the A/C unit before opening the cover! That includes turning off your thermostat. The 45uF side of this capacitor supports compressor operation (the HERM terminal); and the 5uF side supports the fan (the FAN terminal). The "C" is the common terminal for both.

and it saved me the ~$350-$400 AC repairman ~this is a nice neighborhood~ rape job pricing
Ok, so it gets 4 stars because it came fast (2 days and I ordered it Friday before Memorial Day weekend and it delivered on SUNDAY), it works, and it saved me the ~$350-$400 AC repairman ~this is a nice neighborhood~ rape job pricing. It got minus one for being a very different size than the 45/5 cap in my unit. I made an improvisation in the mount that I'm not 100% happy with, but hopefully will hold up. Knowing it is much smaller than most 10 yr old caps, would it kill them to throw a piece of that cheap pre-punched hole metal strap in there, and a 3/4-1" screw (to provide for some slop in distance between punched holes) that people can use to remount it? Charge an extra $3 for the trouble.

Quick fix and good value for the price...
We used a couple of these in the past as a quick fix and they held up pretty good. One I received was yellow dot and the other was white dot. They worked about the same. My old capacitor was going bad in my 4 ton unit with diminishing capacitance values but it still looked new. Keep in mind that not all capacitors will swell. You must physically check the capacitance values at least twice a year to be sure. If you've never installed one, make sure you research the installation thoroughly because a capacitor can hold a good sized charge and can shock the hell out of you. Only took a few minutes to replace and so far so good.
