    Believe the positive reviews!

I know that sometimes people misuse a product outside of its limitations and then they get on here and mislead prospective buyers by evaluating the product based on its inability to perform outside of the tolerances of its limitations or intended use. That aint cool. So, to the folks who say their arrows went through this material, I have to question whether or not they realize that this material is for arrows, not bullets, and maybe not an arrow that uses an explosive as a propellant, which they would have to be using in order to get any penetration through this material. In my trials conducted outside on my lawn just now - firing 400 spine (skinny shaft), pointy target/field tipped carbon arrows from a fully drawn 30 lb recurve bow, at only ten paces - not a single arrow so much as pierced the material. Rather, EVERY arrow hit the net with a dull thud, slightly creased the material, then smartly fell in the grass, the crease laughing as it straightened under the weight of the material. Honest to goodness, this net has stopping power like no material I have seen. It must be a combination of the material and the weave pattern, distributing impact force throughout the net on contact, because nothing else explains why I couldn't get a single arrow to so much as poke a hole in the net (both folded in half AND single ply). And, believe me, at the risk of putting a hole in it (there wasn't a risk, it turns out, because it is just that strong), I tried intently to get the arrow to penetrate the net. It wouldn't. It couldn't. Like I said, ten paces, fully drawn, skinny shaft carbon arrow with a pointy steel tip. No penetration. Now, to put this into perspective with regard to the stopping power of this net, I fire these very same arrows and tips with the very same bow, at the same full draw, from 40 paces (yards/meters) away, into a 2 inch thick, dense foam rubber target board made specifically for archery. At this distance, these 33 inch carbon arrows penetrate the foam by 10 - 14 inches, and it takes about 20 - 30 lbs of pulling force to withdraw them from this foam, it's just that dense. Actually, I'd say it's a terrible material to use for archery because arrow retrieval is so difficult and, pulling 24 arrows from this material is not just a bear, it's like wrestling with one. I'm 75 inches tall, weighing 205 lbs, muscular athletic build, active duty military. And so when I say that these arrows penetrate dense foam rubber from this distance, and at such a penetrating depth that I have extreme difficulty retrieving them, you had better believe that I am shooting strong, sharp, quality arrows with a quality bow at this target board .....and, therefore, at this net. Yet no penetration whatsoever of the net at just ten paces away. And so I say all of that to say this.....whoever is claiming that their arrows are penetrating and passing through their net is either lying, using gun powder in some kind of arrow-firing contraption, or they were sent an inferior knockoff product from a different company. All I know is the BSN archery net I received is of the highest quality, doing absolutely what they say it will, and more. Like I said, 0 penetration. 0, and, therefore, worth every penny I spent on it. No more searching for stray arrows in the woods behind my house. The only negative I found is that, common with several other reviewers, my net also arrived with dust/dirt on it, likely from the surface of whatever table or floor on which they folded it for packaging. I didn't knock it for this; it wipes off easily, the the fold was good and uniform, and the quality was/is exceptional - no fraying, tears, or defects. I'm more than pleased and, if you receive an authentic version, in any size, I am sure you will be also. I would recommend this purchase to anyone buying it for its intended use. Again, I cant see anyone's arrows finding their way through the weave pattern, let alone piecing into it. It just did not happen when I tried, firing fully drawn arrows directly at it. This is my honest, objective, unpaid, unsolicited evaluation. If anyone wants me to upload a video proof, I'd be happy to, without hesitation. Just leave a comment requesting such. The one other customer who kindly shared their footage shows the same results I encountered....arrows hit, but they never stick or prick. Exceptional design, BSN!

Works great with 35lb recurve bow.I have it folded in 2 layers behind my target, but one layer is more than enough too.In the video below, I shot 2 arrows from a distance of 10, 20 and 40 feet at a double-layered and single-layered part of the net. As you can see, even a single layer stops everything.

    Stops Arrows With No Problem

*by R***H on Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2018*

We tested the stopping capability with our 35# recurves. The net incurs no damage stopping the arrows at around 20 feet in our basement. We do have the net draped over a PVC tube hanging in our basement so the 16 feet is doubled over and stands about 7 feet high (x a loose 9 ft wide) with some dragging on the floor. The net is just for misses, now hopefully the arrows just go into the target that is a foot in front of the her. Our experience matches the video posted in a different review. We are very happy and quite confident no arrows will pass through the net (which is good because there is a window a few feet behind the net).
