Yes it’s not a necessity and I’ve managed my whole life without using it before but that doesn’t take away it being useful. Nothing worse than when you get that one stubborn clove of garlic that refuses to peel unless you smash it which the flat knife blade and you end up with the clammy garlic smelling fingers for days after peeling the stubborn skin off lol. This tube really does work. Pop one or two cloves of garlic in, roll it on the counter and boom peeled garlic ready to use. Washes well and easy to store. I love it.
