This Impasto doesn't level so it lets your knife or brush strokes stay as you apply them.

This works great in terms of texture - I used it to paint tree bark - but it also adds a sheen to the dried paint. This might have been ok had I used it all over but since it was just used for a tree, it stood out. I ended up adding additional layers of acrylic paint on top to cover the issue.

When you scoop this material it stands up on the palette knife. Dries fast and holds it's shape.

Con: dries glossy even if you use matte paint Pros: doesn't seem to affect color. I love the texture it gives and will be buying more soon.

The top was off when I received the order. Some of the impasto had spilled out onto other items ….a bit of a mess.

As an artist, I’ve found this Mont Marte Impasto Acrylic Medium really useful for adding texture and body to my work. It mixes easily with acrylic paint and does a great job of thickening it without affecting the colour too much. I like how it holds brush and palette knife marks – it lets me build up layers and create more dimension in my paintings. It also dries well without cracking, which has been an issue I’ve had with other mediums in the past. A little goes a long way, so the 500ml bottle lasts a while even with regular use. It’s become a staple in my studio for adding that extra bit of depth and texture when I need it. Overall, a simple but effective product that does exactly what it’s meant to do.
