Can you recharge it using 220V power outlet when traveling to Asia or Europe?

THE FOLKS WHO ANSWERED YOU ARE WRONG.  Read the charger's 'wall wart.'  Like most modern chargers, it has a built in converter and it takes input from 100V to 240V.  The only 'adapter' you need is a plug that takes the U.S. two prong at one end and has the appropriate male elements on the other end so you can plug it into a Euro or Asian outlet.  I go to Europe once or twice a year for extended stays and have done so for many years.  I used to cart one of those heavy transfomer/converters around with me.  I no longer need to do so, and you don't either. People should do their homework before they give misleading asnwers to inquiries.

Question 2

once the battery is dead, as it has limited charge cycles. What is the solution. Can the battery be replaced?

by the time your battery loses charge (assuming proper care) there will be another better unit by UE or another manufacturer. THAT SAID, you can buy a battery pack for $10-20. I bought a 12000mAh battery for $20 and that is WAY bigger than Boom's original battery. Hope this helps. some of the smaller battery pack like the 4000Amh is quite small. the 2000Amh is like a credit card size. This is a much better solution than to open up the unit and replace the batter.IF anyone has a dead battery UE Boom and want to sell it to me for $20 I'll take it.

do you need two or one speaker

I'm not sure what you mean by two speakers.  You don't need a left or a right speaker.  This speaker can stand alone and will play off of anything that has Bluetooth, or you can plug it in with a "headphone" like cable.   I love it.  I'm going to by another one to keep in another room.

Question 4

How does the speaker stand when it's plugged in to the USB or 3.5mm cable?  Does it go upside down or do you have to put it on the side?

The cable plug fits into the bottom of the speaker so the speaker is on its side. The front of the speaker has a sorta design w/ a plus and a minus sign which is made of rubber so that the speaker does not roll when on its side.Seems to me, d/t the plug being on the bottom helps keep it from dust.  BTW, pushing the plus and minus signs together will tell you how much charge is left in the speaker.
