Standing Ovation.Naomi Chase (aka Maureen Smith) outdid herself on Deception, the sequel to Exposed. I really like how she changed how you felt about the characters.Brandon was so different in this book. You could see at the end of Exposure, that he had a dark side, but he was 'godfatherish' in this one and I LOVED IT. Talk about swagger, confidence, power, and sex appeal. Whew, he made me twitch in my seat throughout the book, bcz he took no prisoners and was like, if you don't like what I'm doing, then eff you! Apple didn't fall far from the tree which had roots from both MOM and DADTamia was a bit more humble in this one, guess prison does that to you, huh? But, I liked her even more bcz she was 'real' and accepted her role in the demise of her relationship with Brandon. I liked when she backhanded Fiona. She truly loves Brandon, but I don't think he'll EVER be able to move beyond her porn star career. She needs a strong, older, unconditionally loving man, equally as handsome, powerful, and sexually compatible with her as Brandon. That's what I'd like to see for her. Although, that juror #8 creeps me out and I don't think we've seen the last of him.Cynthia really changed from strong/independent to clingy/insecure. Now, I understand her being intimidated by Tamia and the connection btwn she and Brandon. However, I think she is a liar on many fronts and will hopefully be exposed for that in book 3. I loved the line where Beau and Brooke (Brandon's siblings) said that "Cynthia and her ugly-ass mama were likely praying for God to smite Tamia". Hilarious!Fiona is unlikeable but FREAKY and her "encounters" with Dre blew me AWAY!I like Dre and believe that he may be the one man that Brooke can't have. It will be interesting to see if something develops there. I loved when Tamia told him off and dismissed him.Lou and Honey added a new dimension to the story. I think Tamia will bond w/ Honey as a little sis now that Fiona's out of the picture.Absolutely wonderful read that you cannot put down. It would help tremendously if you read Exposed before Deception, so that you have the backstory.Naomi Chase - You go girl! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Juicy! *by S***M on Reviewed in the United States on February 29, 2012* I want to preface this review by mentioning that this book is not romance but erotic fiction, so if you are looking for Maureen's normal romance genre books this book is not for you.First definitely read  Exposed  before this book so that you'll know the history of these characters and what brought them to this point in their lives.There were a few unexpected things that happened in this book. Tamia for one totally changed, it seemed as though she really realized the error of her ways, and put forth a conscious effort to right her wrongs. Brandon, we really saw a different side of him. Yes he was the suit and tie type, but we really got a glimpse of his ruthless side, and everyone loves a bad boy. The sex scenes in this book were off the chart, they certainly lived up to the erotic title. They will have you squirming in your seat, so read this in the privacy of your own home. Not only were Brandon and Tamia on fire but everyone else in the book was too. Naomi really took it up a notch in these scenes. The supporting cast of characters also added tremendously to this book.I could definitely see a future read with Brandon's brother Beau and even Dre, it would be interesting to see where his relationship goes. I couldn't help but root for Tamia. Yes she pissed everyone off in the first book, but before she started to act foolish we were all rooting for her, so I definitely wanted to see her and Brandon back together in this book. Nobody likes a cliff hanger, and I surely don't, but if you want to read good material it is worth the wait. I certainly didn't expect the book to end how it did, and we are surely left hanging. I'll be patiently awaiting the release of the next book to see what will happen in this ongoing drama. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Oh My Gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 *by N***L on Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2012* I saw this book at Wal-Mart and rushed home to buy on my kindle, only to realize it was a part 2 of a series. So I bought both and finshed this book at 1:30 last night. I LOVED this book. I was so glad to see Tamia get her act together more in this book even though she was still keeping secrets. I was so glad to see her and Brandon trying to work on their relationship. What can I say about Brandon???? In Exposed he seemed to be such a wimp I was like really??? I loved the change in him in this book, I wanted Brandon!I couldn't stand Cynthia and of course what happened at the end I kinda saw it coming. Let's talk about Fiona, with a sister like that who needs enemines. I was kinda pulling for her a little until what was revealed, that girl is crazy!As mentioned by other reviewers the thing I am beginning to hate when reading these types of books, are the endless cliffhangers. I really hated the ending of this book and of course there has to be another for us to get the answers of what happened. I normally don't read books if there are more than 2 books to a story because to me it is pointless. Nevertheless, I will be waiting for the next book eagerly with everyone else.I would love to see stories for Dre, Brooke, Beau, and Honey. I have read other books by this author as Maureen Smith and I have enjoyed them but I have loved these books.
