It's easy to pull the plunger back and draw in a lot of water, (which I didn't want), because of the large diameter of the device. Length of the barrel is approx. 6 in., with a circumference of approx 3 in. The tip is small enough to use on my 20-lb. dog, as long as I was very careful to draw a small amount of water, slowly; one reviewer found it to big for their 30-lb. dog. I bought it out of desperation, after trying other ways to crush & administer meds to my resistive dog, and it was a success for my needs. **Q: Does it have marked measurements on it? That’s what I have to use for my patient!** A: yes, in 2cc increments, with every 10cc marked in a large number. It would be easier to read if they were imprinted in black instead of colorless marking. Can get some plumber's tape at the local Home Depot or Lowe's for $2. Just replace when the tape starts to undo, shred, or grey (mold). Wrap around the rubber part about 4 times. Make sure rubber part is clean and dry. I rinse mine with hydorgen peroxide. Instead of going through the whole soap and water. Just soak in half water and half HP, dry off and reuse. **Q: Does come with tube** A: It is a syringe type, you put pill in the tube part, insert plunger crush pill, draw up liquid to mix with pill. Up until I found this pill crushing syringe, I had to crush each of my regimen of pills and put each crushed pill aside and begin the next; very time consuming. Using the pill crushing syringe cut medication time significantly. The plunger glides easily, but cleaning the syringe manually keeps the gliding ability longer than if washed in a dishwasher. When the glide becomes difficult, I found a sterilized glycerin to be applied the the tip of the plunger, extending the duration and usefulness of the syringe.In most cases, and with most of my medications, I place one, or several, tablets in the pill tube, twist the plunger, then suck water in by pulling the plunger; my medication is mixed and ready for ingestion. One point: if the medication is not mixed, using a cup with a small amount of water, then fill the tube and release the mixture several times back into the cup. This helps the certainty of proper dissolution of medications.Finally, I use some medications in capsule forms. I can't swallow a capsule but, after checking with doctors and medicine manufacturers, I open capsules and follow the same routine as with a crushed pill. Some capsules are time released and should not be crushed, but placing the medication in my liquid nutrition helps getting the pill content into my stomach.This syringe has made life easier for me and I recommend using it to others in a similar situation as mine. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Great idea *by A***N on February 12, 2020* Great idea.
