Review: 5 stars is not enough for this book!! - I posted a vid review above and I stand by my words. This product overdelivered. I learned hebrew in two weeks, not 6. It's that good! You know the story of Helen Keller , blind and deaf? Anne Sullivan kept writing words in her hands and one day she connected "gibberish" to meaning. She might have been blind but now she could see. THe world was nown open to her. I felt this very same way. I thought i would never learn Hebrew. My boyfriend is Jewish and I wanted to learn Hebrew in time for his 2nd son's Bar Mitzvah (I have until August 2022 so I am ahead of schedule!) . Last year, right before Covid, his oldest had his bar mitvah. My filipina-american self had NEVER set foot in a synagogue. I had never really heard Hebrew before. I was moved by the service. The language was beautiful and I told myself , that the next time I stepped foot inside the synagogue, I would not have to read transliterations(and still be lost), I would learn Hebrew. Well a year past , I had bought another book online that made me feel I was a hopeless language learning case. I gave it one more shot. Bought this book and I could not put it down (also helped it was in large print! easy to read.) Fun drawings and memory hints make Hebrew a joy to learn. With each letter learned, the author also introduces new words. You are reading Hebrew from the very beginning! I remember shouting on the bus "I CAN READ!" when I realized I could understand. Everyone looked at me as if I was crazy but I did not care. I felt the blinders fall from my eyes. This was no longer an indecipherable code. The Alef-bet was accessible. A whole world was now open to me. My brain lit up, and could I feel it absobing as much knowledge as it could soak in. Craving more hebrew language! There is such joy in expanding one's knowledge and skill set. I thought i was too old at 44 too learn Hebrew. I am glad to say I was wrong. I have become closer to my boyfriend as a result of my learning how to read Hebrew (better than him I must add. HE still has to read the transliteration!) And I am bonding with his kids. I cannot stop searching out more Hebrew reading material. IF you are on the fence about getting this book. What do you have to lose? Nothing. You will gain the world! Review: This book takes learning to read Hebrew from intimidating to fun and easy in less than 6 weeks - This is an excellent book for anyone wanting to learn to read Hebrew. The way that Miko teaches really makes it easy to pick up fast and for it to stick. Truthfully with this book you should learn to read Hebrew in a lot less than six weeks. It’s such a great book/tool in fact that I loaned it to my neighbor who was needing to give a speech at her bat mitzvah and I asked for it back a few months later and she basically avoided me and refused to give it back and then moved. So now I’m contemplating having to purchase again because I’d like a refresher. Anyways bottom line is that with this book, Miko takes a very intimidating language to learn to read and makes it very simple, easy to understand, and does that in ways that are easy to retain. She is a great teacher and I’m thoroughly impressed with her methods. Learning to read Hebrew is fun with this book

For what it does, it's excellent
As long as you don't expect it to do something it's not meant to do (a problem of many reviewers who gave low ratings), you'll learn exactly what you're intended to. This book will NOT teach you conversational Hebrew. It will NOT teach you grammar. It will NOT teach you much vocabularly. It will NOT teach you reading comprehension. Basically, it will NOT teach you Hebrew. What it will teach you--and all it's meant to teach you--is the letters and their sounds. But since that's a major hurdle for many adult learners completion of this easy and entertaining course will put you in good stead for learning the language from a teacher, book or online source. In addition, upon completion of this course, you'll be able to follow the siddur in Hebrew. You won't know what you're reading, beyond your general understanding of that particular text, but following the Hebrew rather than the English translation, helps you keep your place in a multi-page column of Hebrew during a service. The brilliance of this little book is that 1) there us nothing to distract you from one lesson to the next from your primary purpose of learning to recognize and pronounce the letters and 2) it doesn't teach by rote memorization, as most alpbabets are taught to adults. It teaches by means of cute nmemonic devices that help you carry what you learned in one lesson into all the others without having to constantly go back and refresh what you learned two pages before. Once you've mastered the proununciations, it makes learning the language easier and more fun.

Beautiful Book
I’m not Jewish, but one of my best friends is, and he invited me to do Daf Yomi with him and his friends next year and to prepare we should read the Torah this year. So I decided I should learn Hebrew so I could read the Torah in Hebrew. I ordered this book and it is awesome! I loved the opening story about teaching what you know. Each letter has a great mnemonic, fun artwork, example words, and even some cool little biblical or practical applications. In “about the author” section it mentions that she has 9 children, and she writes and teaches with the patience of a mother who has children; with encouragement and love. I especially loved the final pages where she switched from her light-hearted style to something a little more serious. I thought it was beautiful! This was exactly what I needed to get over my fear and intimidation with reading Hebrew. Amazing little book. Thank you so much for writing it!!

Useful for beginners/kids. Visuals very good, writing style a little (for me) over encouraging.
I don't think I am quite the reader the book is aimed at. I'm guessing from the writing style that the author has taught a lot of people who are really unfamiliar with and scared of the Hebrew alphabet. The writing style is super encouraging, apparently for that reason. I, on the other hand, am relearning an alphabet which I studied as a kid in Hebrew school so that I can read a book that uses it (without transliteration) in its examples. For me, the really good part of the book is the cartoons the author has put in to help in memorizing the shapes and sounds of the Hebrew consonants (these are the real "heavy hitters" in that language -- as in Arabic and other Semitic languages such as Aramaic; those who know the language can mentally put in the vowels which are usually left out of most printed materials because of built-in patterns in these languages). The vowels are definitely covered, just not as intensively. If you are really new to Hebrew and like lots of encouragement from an author, this is a good book for you. Might well also be good for teaching kids (probably is -- the author indicates that she has 8 of them, so she probably has a lot of practice there, too). With the above provisos, I recommend this book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Clear, Encouraging Path to Hebrew Reading Success
Learn to Read Hebrew in 6 Weeks is one of the most approachable and confidence‑boosting introductions to Hebrew reading I’ve seen. The author breaks the Aleph‑Bet into small, digestible weekly lessons that make the entire process feel surprisingly manageable. Each week builds logically on the last, giving you steady wins and a real sense of momentum. The mnemonics are clever without being childish, the explanations are simple without being oversimplified, and the reading drills are paced perfectly for adult learners. By the time you reach the later weeks, you’re genuinely reading Hebrew words and sentences—not just memorizing letters. What sets this book apart is how supportive it feels. The tone is friendly, the layout is clean, and the exercises strike the right balance between repetition and variety. Even if you’ve struggled with Hebrew before, this guide makes the learning curve feel smooth and achievable. A fantastic, confidence‑building resource for anyone who wants to start reading Hebrew quickly and clearly. Five stars.

This Little Book Delivers in a Stunning Way
Just a little about myself. I'm a professional speaker and I have traveled to Israel (as a tour leader) on multiple occasions. and I have a close friend with a Ph.D. in Hebrew from Duke Divinity School, and he and I get together every Tuesday to discuss the Hebrew Scriptures. So... what I'm about to say about this little treasure trove of a book that is more like a children's book than an academic workbook may surprise you. First, it over-delivers on its promise. Granted, I have more background than most readers, but classic Hebrew as taught in higher learning institutions is short on pronunciation and long on grammar. In a span of just six hours of reading the digital version, I was reading Hebrew with a modern pronunciation. When it comes to Yod and Khof and Viv and a host of other vowel SOUNDS, the pictographic illustrations in this book forever settled that I will not revert to academic pronunciations that sounds more Spanish than Hebrew. For those who say, "But I don't even know the Hebrew alphabet!" the "Six Week's" promise may apply, but you can absolutely put your trust in the author's promise. Second, the writing is clear (and funny), and though I read 16th century English tomes and am accustomed to the dry and dull narrative of most linguistic writers, I found that laughing at pictures fires more neurons in my brain than rote repetition of vowel charts. I realize my Ph.D. friends may judge me for what I'm saying, but this is is an Amazon review designed to help people determine if they should buy a book. Short answer: Absolutely. No matter your level of learning. Finally, I did a little research on the author through free You Tube videos and found her teaching of Hebrew visually and audibly replicate what she's written in this book. Maybe it's just me, but when I read a book that "feels" like I'm hearing someone speak, I remember much more than from a book that "feels" like someone is laboriously writing. So, I give the book 5 Stars (as it seems most others are doing), and truthfully, I'd give it more if possible. I have all kinds of Hebrew learning tools in my library, and this one has soared to the top of my recommendation list.

Jättebra och enkel och kul bok!
Fantastisk bok! Jag lyckades lära mig att läsa det hebreiska alfabetet på mindre än sex veckor, trots jobb. Lite känslosamt att plötsligt kunna läsa ord som "manna" och "sabbat" på Guds eget språk! Kan verkligen rekommendera.

Incredible resource and engaging lessons, WOW!!
I had an absolute blast learning to read Hebrew with Miiko. This workbook was so fun, simple, and engaging that I felt motivated to go through the entire thing in just 2 weeks, and I’m Chinese lol. Thank you so much Miiko, I can finally relate to my Jewish friends and read the signs if I ever visit Israel!! 😁

The best way to begin
This not only the best book, but the best way to begin Hebrew. I began with a renowned app, but it was very difficult and with a lot of gaps. This book was a turning point. It made Hebrew easy.

Awesome!
What a great book! It is so simple. The author has created a very easy, quick and fun way to learn Hebrew letters. I definitely recommend it. It's so enjoyable; written so simply and the images stick in your mind (helping you remember each letter). Definitely a winner. I can read half the alphabet, and some words using them, in just under 2 weeks since getting it. You could learn it much quicker if you did it every day. Fantastic book and learning system.
