Review: Beautiful Deck - I am so happy that I found and ordered this deck! The artwork is gorgeous. The card size is perfect. The cardstock is a good weight: easy to shuffle and durable. I've had these for a couple of months and use them often. I have several decks but these have become my "go to" cards for clarification. I find that the scenes on the cards are very easy to connect to intuitively. Some reviewers mentioned feeling uncomfortable with the female nudity depicted on the cards. While there are some cards that show the human body, it doesn't feel gratuitous so much as an artful means of further communicating the meaning of the card. Again, the artwork is beautiful. My only wish regarding this deck is that it had come with a sturdier box. I know that it would have cost a bit more but I would have happily paid more to have received a thick, lift off top, type of box rather than the standard playing card type they arrived in. This box is already beginning to show signs of breaking down despite being gentle with it. My solution is to fully wrap the box with clear Gorilla tape in an effort to make it last.
Review: Vibrant, beautiful cards - This is a very pretty deck. The colors are beautiful, and the minimal writing and borderless design make for a sleek look. The style of the artwork is consistent and very pleasant to the eye, and as you look through the deck you will definitely spot references to other artworks. On a quick perusal I spotted Ophelia, Lady Godiva, and the Lady of Shalott, along with some others I couldn't name off the top of my head. (Which reminds me, if I were to single out any one card as being "out of place" in the deck, it may be Ophelia as the Death card, since it bears the least resemblance to the Smith/Rider/Waite style.) As far as the physical qualities, this is on par with many other Lo Scarebo decks, the cardstock is not thick but feels fine to me. Surface is slightly glossy, size isn't huge but is big enough, and packaging is a simple paper box. I cannot comment on how someone might like to read these cards, as I don't read cards. I just collect them for fun. Photographs include: - 6 of Swords (Lady of Shalott), 6 of Wands (Lady Godiva), Death (Ophelia) - Queen of Cups compared to a credit-card-sized card (yay for junk mail) - Spread of a random selection - Box, card backs, and LWB
