## Description

Pregnant out of wedlock, an educated young woman is pressured by her father into an arranged marriage with a lonely farmer in this drama set during WWII.

Review: There's a good story here, with good character development. - Spoiler alert - some plot elements discussed below. My favorite Hallmark movie. This isn't the usual Hallmark movie - the Hall of Fame series movies are different and more serious. There's a good story here, with good character development. Based on my childhood strict religious upbringing and the time frame of this movie, the basic premise - a young, unmarried girl from a strictly religious upbringing being conveyed into a forced marriage where the "matchmaker" on the other side brings in an honorable and decent partner who understands and accepts the situation - is completely plausible. And from there the story proceeds nicely. The one thing that didn't immediately ring true with me was the depiction of WWII interment camps. My understanding was that the camps were closed; the detainees were isolated within the camps and not allowed out. But this led me to investigate further, and I did learn that internees were used to augment local farm labor. So, that story arc increased my awareness.
Review: Best Hallmark Period Movie Ever! - Best Hallmark Period Movie Ever! Wonderful performances by excellent actors and beautiful storyline. Based on the book by the same name.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good story, well acted.

I really like this movie. It won’t win an Academy award, but it’s not even close to a Hallmark movie either. It was well acted and a really good story. I’ve watched it twice now.
