He was pretty helpful **Q: How long is the cord?** A: Its long enough. I have a Chevy Impala police car. I have the light attached to the lower bottom of the windshield with the cord running down to the floor and back up to behind my console with the armrest. Also, the glare reflected across the entire windshield causing additional safety concerns.DAY: No one seemed to notice this light till they were alerted by the siren, and oncoming traffic did not yield.Tested in rear window:DAY & NIGHT: No one seemed to notice this light while sitting on the side of the highway. I then had other officers approach my vehicle specifically looking for this light. They reported that they did not see it until they were within 20 feet (day) to 50 feet (night) of my stationary vehicle.Tested on rear external mount:DAY: Same results as were found in the rear window.NIGHT: Highly visible from about 1/2 mile away, but appeared to be purple until closer than 200-250 feet.It should also be noted that it was clearly not constructed to be mounted externally, and will likely only take a couple good strikes from insects or debris to destroy it if mounted externally.My opinion: This light might be ok for the weekend volunteer who wants to look 'cool' but doesn't really care about visibility. For everyday use, its worth about a tenth of what it actually costs.Update 11-5-16: purchased on 12-29-13, and died today. Sent the same day I ordered it. Great light. A littler smaller then some of the other companies. BUT its bright. I used to have an older police car with poor lightbar and this helped a lot in the day time, let alone the night. I got a newer car now So I dont need it as much but I still use it. The more lights the better. The suction cup design is one of the best I have seen. Has never fallen from the windshield of my police car even when going 80-100mph to a call. In fact its still tough when your trying to take it off. Great quality plug and cord/wiring. I highly recommend. My ownly complaint is I wish there was a shroud that came with this.Has a great number of patterns. And you can see which pattern are on by a little light in the back of it. It really lights up your surroundings at night and is easily visible day or night from very far away. You can mount this light at any angle and the suction cup is so strong it even mounts to my Jeep Wrangler's plastic windows! This light has a pattern indicator on the back with 28 excellent selectable patterns. You can select them from the light or the plug and it even remembers your last pattern. The power cable is thick and durable and will reach to the back window of your vehicle if you want this in the rear.
