Though it could power bigger speakers enough to use as a primary system, I wouldn't recommend it, but I will definitely never use a pair of "computer speakers" again, thanks to this. My application: I use it as an amp for speakers that drive off the TV in our lower living room. I have the TV turn on a 5Vdc relay running off the USB port of the TV. This turns on the power to this amplifier that drives some decent bookshelf speakers. Sounds much better than the tv speakers. The amp seems to have a decent amount of power, 'feels like' maybe 5 watts per channel? (I am using an old AT&T 10watt 12Vdc power supply for the amp). The bass adjustment on this amp is more of a Low-mid frequency gain, similar to the old loudness adjustment on old receivers. The treble adjustment is pretty decent. the only downsize for me is there is a minor POP when the TV shuts off because I am basically turning off the power supply instead of the amp button in front.
