GREAT razor. You Get A Really Close Shave
It's a great traditional tried-and-tested double edge razor, and the Wilkinson Sword blade is incomparable. I usually shave with a straight razor, and I like that the best, it gives the closest, most uniform shave, and it costs nothing except the razor, strop, and a couple of stones for honing. But it take time to learn the skill of honing the blade, and sometimes the edge needs a touch up and you are in a hurry. Plus, you can't shave with a straight razor in the shower (you must have the mirror). So, for convenience this razor is great. The blades last a long time as they are stainless steel, and they are much CHEAPER than the rip-off cartridge razors with 3, 4, and now 5 blades--and there is NO PLASTIC to dispose of. NONE. You can even get double edge blades in WAX PAPER packaging.Having said all that, you can shave without hurting yourself immediately. With a little practice (like 2 or 3 shaves) you can get nearly as close a shave as you can with a straight razor. One thing I like about the straight razor is that the next day, as your beard starts to come back, the stubble feels really good, not harsh like with an electric or one of these plastic monstrosities. Well, this Wilkinson Sword blade does very close to the same thing. Even with a day's growth, my face still feels, well, nice and civilized. So for $16.00, you can try it out, and you won't be disappointed. Plus, unless you want to grow a beard, you have to shave every day. Trying out different methods is fun. This one is particularly fun. Get some good shave cream. Don't ever use that chemical crap they sell at the supermarket. Get the best, Proraso, from Italy, and get yourself a decent shaving brush, I recommend Omega professional. It's boar bristle, but actually, that is the best. Badger is expensive, overrated, and generally if you get Badger online, it is going to be fake, colored Boar. Just get the boar. I works better. Any kind of small bowl will work for the lather, but with the Proraso and the omega, you can basically wet your face, rinse the brush in hot water, squirt the Proraso into the brush and make the lather on your face. Proraso is the best, it smells good, softens and protects, and you can imagine you are in an Italian barbershop getting a barber shave and the go get some realy neapolitan pizza with that gorgeous dark haired girl who is flirting with you through the barbershop window. Have fun. You shave every single day. Make it an adventure.

A Hidden Gem in a Sea of Garbage
This razor is just the right thing for beginners and pros to enjoy. The handle is long enough for people with bigger hands (such as myself) to comfortably hold onto the handle or the end of the handle without feeling tired or annoyed from the typical small sized handles that other companies (such as Van Der Hagen) put onto their products/razors. However, the handle is just the right amount of length as well for smaller handed people to enjoy the shaving experience with it. The razor itself has a good weight to it, and will only need little to no pressure to glide well over your face and neck area. The butterfly opening is easy to open and close, and will not open accidentally until you open it. The handle features a beautiful elongated spiral pattern going vertically that provides extremely well grip for the user, and is something for the user to visually admire. The blades included are (believe it or not) extremely well made. Compared to Gillete Platinum (which are platinum coated) or even the Van Der Hagen (which are btter used for a refund or in the trash) blades that I have used, the blades provided, provided a smoother feel compared to either of the other blades. Note, that feedback highly depends on what your shave routine needs or your skin and facial hair type, but it doesn't hurt to try new things. This product worked well for me with my extremely sensitive skin, and with facial hair that is soft but on the thicker end of the spectrum. The shaving products, I use are the Shave Oil, Cremo Shaving Cream that's peppermint scented, and Harry's Post-Shave Balm. Either way, I feel because of the Teflon coating on the Wilkinson Sword blades, I could achieve a close shave with minimal irritation and/or bleeding. The razor itself is not aggressive and the blades are pretty forgiving. When using the right techniques and using products that work the best for you, this razor and it's blades make it almost impossible for you to cut yourself. I highly recommend this product from this company, they made a great product. I have used this product for two weeks since making this video in order to form an opinion and really try out the product to be able to provide a fair review.

Great product, butterfly opening simplifies usage
Happy with the purchase. There are several options for a double-edged razor, but few with a butterfly opening, and it produces a comfortable, close, and efficient shave. For me, a strong feature is the butterfly opening. It reduces the wet shaving workflow—no screwing in and out repetitively.

Shoots above it's class...
It is a good inexpensive Safety Razor. The butterfly opening is nice and quick. Seems fairly durable in comparison to razors double this one's price. The plating seems a little less durable than a Merkur but that might be the thinner metal stamped parts needed in a butterfly. It cuts fine and it seems fairly mild and not aggressive. It does have blade overhang making blade removal safe but watch out when swinging it around - don't want to get sliced on the ends. Great over disposables for skin exfoliation. You will clean your skin getting whiskers and dead skin off you never knew you had.

Inexpensive and aggresive. Be patient and you'll be okay.
I was looking for something a little bit vicious or aggresive. This one had some reviews that mentioned that it was a prove to nic or cut you while other reviews said this was a terrific razor. I went with this one for the aggresiveness and inexpensiveness. It has cut me and I've bought a couple of septic pencils to deal with it. As I get used to using this razorthough I've become much more adept and careful. (It takes a little learning curve.) I mean really!? I would rather use a straight razor but don't have the patience and desire to be that awake to shave myself. A DE (doubel edge) razor is the BEST choice for ease and precision to use. Along with the cost of buying DE blades as apposed to electric or disposable multi-blade razors this is the clear choice.

A quality razor handle and blades that are Step Dad approved!
The Amazon AI keeps prompting me to review these, so here it is.I bought these over a year ago for my 84 year old stepdad who still shaves with a double edged safety razor and has no clue how to order anything online. A few days before ordering these he had asked me if I could get him some blades for his razor handle. When I went shopping I couldn't find them in any stores locally. The only similar razor blades I could find were in the hardware isle and wouldn't fit his razor handle. I looked for him here and found several choices. Then he picked out these. He must like them, and they must last a long time, because he hasn't asked me to get him more, and it's been well over a year. He told me when he got them that he likes this handle more than the one he had, because this feels more substantial. My Step Dad is pretty set in his ways, and if he likes something he sticks with it. So his liking and approving of these means something very positive. Because he likes them they get my seal of approval too!

Well Made But Feels Weird.
I haven't use this yet, I'm waiting on delivery of my shaving mug and brush, but...The razor looks well made and the mechanism as well. The only exception to this is the swirl machining pattern on the handle - it gives a very odd feel and causes the whole unit to turn when handling. It would be better if the handle was knurled or cross-hatched, or even straight grooves. The swirly helix texture is a terrible call.

Amazing razor
This razor is my first DE razor - I bought a Merkur 23C after this and it is nowhere near as good as this for me.This gives a nice close shave but you need to use proper shaving cream eg Proraso or Tobs with a brush - my first experience with this razor was not pleasant using the Nivea stuff out of a can 🩸.The blade that comes with this is ok but the Astra and Feather blades work well. What is great about this compared to the Merkur 23C is the additional weight this has, that it’s easier to sense where the blade is, and it is efficient without being aggressive. You won’t be spending all day making pass after pass to get a nice close shave, I go wtg and xtg and the for my thicker chin hair just a bit atg. Far far closer than Mach 3 etc which I used to use before this.I also use the Proraso pre shave balm but that’s not strictly necessary. I use a aftershave balm as well for comfort. The only potential downside is I’m not sure how easy it would be to clean the razor thoroughly if that were to be needed in future - see pic for what I mean when the razor is open.If you’re on the fence about DE shaving can’t recommend this highly enough.
