The material is durable and easy to clean after use. It is easy to use with softer smaller blocks of cheese. We like to buy big blocks of Colby jack from Sam’s and sometimes it can prove to be difficult to cut. Not the slicers fault. The wire is good to get through the cheese; however after a month it broke. The slicer does come with one replacement. I have ordered and additional pack of wires since I have to use the one provided.
