I have 2 a/c units that dont have a thermostat on it. I used these to control them to turn on and off on their own. It was a cheap and easy fix rather than replace them.However the yemp is inaccurate but thats fine because its consistant.I am having issues with one of them. That its not reading unless you wake it up. But still awsome.I would give 5 stars if the other one starts to work. Or the manufacturer is willing to just replace the not working thermostat. Ill exchange for it. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Great concept, poor execution *by R***N on June 10, 2019* There are lots of remote "weather stations" out there, the kind with an outside sensor and inside readout. This unit works on the same basic principle except that the sensing unit has an internal switch to turn the a/c outlet on or off at a temperature that is preset on the controller. I purchased mine to control a fan in my attic, and it sorta works.The generally positive ratings aside, the problem with my unit is that the temperature displayed (and therefore the basis for setting the target value) is no where even close to the actual air temperature up there. A conventional thermometer placed alongside was a full ten degrees different. I would have hoped there would have been some way to calibrate, but the user's brochure was silent. Speaking of which, the brochure was a bit awkward, but understandable.If I could calibrated it I might rate five stars, May be picayune, but I don't feel I should have to interpolate temperatures in order to use it. I'm returning it. ### ⭐ Got 24 hours out of it *by R***H on June 19, 2019* I used this to control a window AC unit. Pretty easy to get set up, although I don't believe you can set a program for each day of the week even though it has you pick the time and day when you set up. If it does it sure doesn't come with enough instructions to even come close to explaining that.I had it in and working, set my room temp to 74 and went to bed. Came home from work the next day and the wall unit was on, indicated by the red light, but the AC wasn't running. I plugged in several other items and none of these turned on. To make sure it wasn't the wall power itself that was out I unplugged their device and plugged in my AC directly and sure enough it turned on.These things are made pretty cheap.
