It has a specialized use
It's great for individual finger strengthening. If you just squeeze a ball, the strongest fingers can do all the work. It feels durable and you can adjust your finger position to avoid pain while still strengthening the finger. I got red and yellow because some fingers are stronger than others.

Just like the one the physical therapist has
I bought this after an injury to my hand and the PT had me use one. This is a light weight version, but good to keep fingers flexible. Keep it by my computer for fidgeting as well.

I bought the Digi-Flex on the recommendation of a friend who used one in Physical Therapy after a hand operation. She loved it and bought the 3 lb for herself after she left Rehab. I have Parkinson's and 5 years ago had an auto accident in which the air bag deployed and broke my fingers and wrist. I have had difficulty even with therapy getting my fingers to work due to the Parkinson's. Typing and any fine detail work is difficult to say the least. The Digi-Flex has improved my hand function tremendously. I am typing this, not hunt and peck. I have a 3 lb one to graduate to when my little finger is strong enough. I love my Digi-Flex, it's well made and well designed.
