The putty looks like a blob of gray at the connection points but so far is doing the trick. Do not buy this!! Review: Love this table! *With Update - I have been searching for a console table for while but I had specific measurements and look that it needed to meet and this one was the winner after much searching. I wasn't sure what to expect since the only review rated it 1 star but I took a chance anyways because the size and look matched what I was shopping for. My box arrived well packaged and is shipped in two pieces, you just need to attach the top to the legs and tighten the bolts well. When I first sat the top on the legs I had some real concern that the table was incredibly wobbly and unbalanced but I went ahead and tightened it all up and that solved the problem. The metal on mine is more white than the picture but I would assume every piece will vary some. The table is really quite lightweight but mine is very sturdy. I have a lamp and a plant on it and have had no issues with it moving at all. It would be a nice little outdoor table as well. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. Update: I guess that's what I get for writing a review after only owning an item for a day. Initially I really did love this table and am so disappointed to update that I woke up the other morning and noticed one of the bars hanging down broken. I don't know if it had been weakened at some point during shipping but apparently it decided it was tired of hanging on. The table was used in an out of the way corner and had a small light and plant sitting on it so nothing could have banged into the table and weight wasn't an issue. For the price and only having owned the table for a week, having to repair it myself just wasn't acceptable and desertcart is extremely wonderful to deal with when issues arrive.
