Perfect fit and easy install on 2014 Silverado LT Crewcab w/ 5.3L
Ordered this unit mainly to improve fuel mileage. Installation could have not be easier. Shipped fast. Super protection. Straightforward instructions. The only thing that would have made it simpler would have been to identify the socket (10mm) to remove the original airbox mounting plate and Allen wrench (needed to secure the new K & N filter to the new housing) - I tried a few Allen's until I had the exact fit, I don't remember the size. No modifications are needed for fitment. It looks great and all items are included to get the unit installed and operational fast. I didn't notice any increase in the sound during regular operation, but when you need to pass someone - that is when you notice you have a performance intake installed. You will certainly feel the improved performance and only a modest increase in sound level. Initial MPG seems to be about 10%. At that rate it would pay for itself in about 22,000 miles (but in less miles when gas prices increase, or when I pull a trailer). At that rate, for me, it would be 1 year.

Nice job, K&N
This is the third intake I've tried on my 2015 Silverado 5.3L. The first one was an SLP Blackwing that was so loud, I eventually took it off. It sounded good, but just way too much for me. Next I tried the Airaid MIT which is just the tube. Nice improvement in low-end feel, and noticeable small boost in high RPM power, but little to no sound over stock. Lastly, this K&N unit which seems to be the best of the three... The tube has a chrome-ish finish and looks nice. I noticed an immediate improvement in low-end throttle response, same as with the Airaid. The tires now want to break loose when accelerating out of a corner, which was not happening with the stock box. The sound is good, pretty much non-existent during cruising, but moderate to heavy throttle produces a satisfying growl that is nowhere near as obnoxious as the SLP unit. Sounds like a truck now, and nicely complements my OEM Borla muffler system. Overall very pleased with this, I'm planning to stick with this one. Truck runs fine, no check engine lights or anything. I am not exactly sure why the SLP was so loud, but the differences are that it had a plastic tube (which is an option on the K&N as well), and also the surround for the filter element was basically a plastic tub, instead of only two-sided metal like the K&N. I must assume that the plastic pieces just produced more resonance and volume...

Great sound, slight performance and mileage improvement.
The throaty growl sounds great under acceleration. Slight performance and mileage improvement but you in order to see the mileage improvement you don't get to hear the growl. In using my cruise I see between 5 and 10 percent increase in mileage ie from 15 to 17. On open freeway it has improved from 19 to 21 on average. Very clean install. I would recommend the dry charger wrap to increase its life and reduce the frequency of cleanings. The wrap also improves appearance as it comes in black, red, and blue.

Recommended!
Installed this intake on an infrequently driven 2015 crew cab Silverado, with 6.2 liter engine. Very pleased with the results! Most notable is the improvement in throttle response. Stock was disappointing, even for a 6.2 engine. After addition, throttle response is near-immediate: huge improvement! Also love how the engine sounds - seems to breathe much more efficiently! Gas mileage appears to have improved, but I have not measured that yet. Installation was relatively easy and took about an hour with a few simple hand tools. Big fan of this upgrade, for the price!

Only ONE Thing I Would Change
The quality of the kit is what you would expect from a reputable company such as K&N. It was easy to install, looks and sounds great. It really amplified the sound of the engine, it's like driving a completely different truck. The only thing I would change is the fittings supplied with the kit. The breather hoses come with these crappy plastic fittings that are absolutely worthless. The instructions even have a warning saying don't over tighten or they will strip. If that's an issue, why not just use metal ones? I don't get it. So I went to a hardware store and got brass fittings and now I feel much more comfortable with rubber hoses being suspended directly over my serpentine belt.

the first modification any truck owner should purchase
Why truck owners don't add these intakes before anything else is a mystery to me considering ease of install, price point, additional power/sound and fuel savings. Again, these are very easy to install. Free advise: take your time! More free advise: there's a great video on YouTube that gives a super simple, step by step how to on installing this intake. I put this on a 2015 GMC Sierra z71 4x4 Crew Cab and it took 45 minutes at most. Adds an intense roar when getting on the highway and the power gain is very noticeable. Probably adds 2 more mpg on average as well (anyone that says it adds 5 or 6 mpg is INCORRECT). I also added a flowmaster 40 series cat back dual out muffler/exhaust system that really compliments the K&N intakes.

Unleash the Beast: Transform Your Truck with K&N Performance Air Intake!
I bought this about a year ago and installed the K&N Performance Air Intake Kit (77-3082KP) on my truck(2016 GMC Sierra), and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results! This kit not only enhances performance, giving me an estimated horsepower gain of over 10 HP, but it also dramatically improves throttle response. The installation was straightforward and took me less than 90 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise. Once it was in, the difference in engine sound was instantly noticeable. My truck now has a more nasally tone that adds a sporty character, making every drive more enjoyable. It feels like my truck has gained a lot more spunk, and I love the boost in acceleration. Plus, with the lifetime red oiled filter, I know I won't have to worry about replacements for a long time—up to 100,000 miles. If you’re looking to unleash the true potential of your vehicle while enjoying an invigorating sound, I highly recommend the K&N Performance Air Intake Kit!

Lifes short, buy the damn intake!!!
I have a 2018 silverado with the 5.3L and a magnaflow muffler on it. It showed up in excellent condition, the box wasnt damaged at all. So before I installed the intake, I took my truck for a drive and got a new best score for 9.8L/100km. Then I did the install which took maybe a matter of 15-20 minutes. Went a did another drive with it, and got an even better I score of 8.8L/100km. Plus the awesome noise the intake makes, oh man it sounds nice and aggressive, and it changed my exhaust tone as well. But for the better, and under half to full throttle the exhaust barks a little more as well. My buddy has the same truck and his girlfriend got him the intake with the plastic tube instead of the aluminum one, and he loves his as well, and they both really really good. Really cleans up the engine bay.
