Fantastic book full of colourful pictures, facts about dinosaurs and giving details of which time period they belonged to, which makes it very interesting and would maintain a child’s attention. The layout is great and is what makes it suitable for both younger children who may just look at the pictures and older children who can read. I’ve bought it for a 6 yr old but it would equally be great for a younger or older child! Don’t be put off by the publication date-it doesn’t matter.Highly recommended (by a retired teacher)

I bought this book for my 7-year-old Nephew. He loves everything dinosaur-related, and couldn't get enough of this book, which I gave him for his birthday.The book is very well presented with colourful illustrations and drawings, combined with a plethora of facts and information. There are a lot of facts, but it's done in a way that children can understand them.This book kept my Nephew entertained for many days and weeks. Showing it to his friends, relatives and family, he recited facts he'd learnt.If you're looking for children aged 7 and up who are interested in dinosaurs, then this book is a great choice.

Arrived super fast. Is a well presented book with colourful illustrations and a wealth of factual information. However this is a present for a 6 year old boy, who's a reluctant reader but lover of dinosaurs and I bought it based on age recommendations in it's reviews. Whilst it's a book he'll grow into, I would say minimum age is more 7+ and I say this as a teacher of 7 year olds of all reading abilities.

Really great encyclopedia - my son loved it! It’s very informative and engaging, with plenty of interesting facts and illustrations. A funny thing to note: they advertise “60+ dinosaurs” but I counted only 61! (If you don’t believe me, buy it yourself and count them!) Overall, an excellent book for any young dinosaur enthusiast.

As the title says, you can always trust a DK book.Bought for my dino mad 4 years old. I was fed up with "reading" a dino poster before bed, so I got this instead.It is obviously aimed at older children but there is plenty to talk about the really good pictures and artist's impressions. It'll lasts us a while.

My son is what you'd call a reluctant reader. The thought of having to read one of the school books left him complaining and protesting.I bought this book to feed his interest in dinosaurs and its brilliant. He now carries the book to school and reads it instead of the less interesting books. He even reads the long dinosaur names really well.I have since bought the Oceans and Animals books for him to keep the love of books going.There is so much information in these books and really well presented for all ages.

This is an excellent book for a 4 year old dinosaur fanatic. Although he can’t read yet, it has really sparked his interest in books. He knows the names of lots of the dinosaurs, even the Titanaboa! He took this to bookweek at kinder and all the kids loved it.
