My problem is the environmentalists in California have created new codes and regulations that make building, or rebuilding, impossible. I was informed that my soil "perk test" is too good! Since it drains so well it might be possible for effluent to get into the water table before it is completely safe. Might is the key word. I would like to rebuild a one bedroom, 500 sq ft cabin and Los Angeles County informed me I need a computerized system that will cost between $25,000 and $50,000 - the same type of system used in areas with poor drainage.
