Fragrant yellowish white flowers in late spring, small nutlets with attached leafy wings! Adapts to a wide range of soil conditions. Good tolerance for urban conditions! Tilia tomentosa. Seedling grown with light or no branching. Tilia tomentosa Silver Linden Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Prefers moist, fertile, well-drained loams, but adapts to a wide range of soil conditions. Good tolerance for urban conditions. Tolerant of heavy pruning, and may be grown as a hedge. Beautiful shade tree with light gray, smooth bark and leaves that are a dark, radiant green on top, shimmering silver beneath. Extremely fragrant clusters of yellow-white flowers bloom in late June to early July. Pollution tolerant. Likes moist, well-drained alkaline soil and full sun. The Silver Linden is very drought hardy and likes alkaline soil (like here in Nevada). Once established it can grow and survive with minimal water. For those of you that have tried to buy a SILVER LINDEN on line or at the local nursery, mid to late summer they are impossible to find. I've been trying a couple years to get one (including trying to grow seeds without success). Buy this guy or girl [ ;-) ] while you can! ;-)

Arrived fast in great condition. Above soil the plant is about 28 - 30 inches in height. Fresh, healthy leaves sprouting from the stem. A beautiful plant. The Silver Linden is very drought hardy and likes alkaline soil (like here in Nevada). Once established it can grow and survive with minimal water.
