Mostly Silent
Great pump. Dead silent? No, but incredibly quiet in my setup. Lots of power for small package. Nice long power cord to easily stretch to your available power source. Liked so much I ordered a Nano two days later to get a water feature going again. Great buy and will be back for more as needed. Only complaint is Amazon insists on throwing these in a padded envelope that does not provide adequate protection. Factory packaging looks like it has been thru a war, but pump was unscathed to my very good fortune.

Confused at Reviews
I have a Fluval Flex and have used the 2.0 and 1.5 as a replacement pump for the Fluval pump that came with the tank (the 1.5 is smaller in vertical length to reach the bottom back tank chamber where the 2.0 fits perfect with the pump tubing that came with the tank, however, you can make either work!). The pump flow and suction power is amazing in comparison to the Fluval standard pump. Maybe it’s because of my tank but I have but I also have a Fluval canister running and I can barely hear anything. In addition, I run a hyggar wave maker. I have zero heat issues anymore. Maybe I have some extra barrier with this tank but this pump made a difference with the flow output dramatically. I love Fluval and all their products (I just think the pump that comes with their tanks isn’t their standard quality but more a generic, run of the mill pump which they expect you to upgrade anyways I’m sure). No complaints here! (Side note that I rotate these pumps because I don’t have time in one instant to clean it and put it back in so, I rotate them based on which one I have clean at the time, they run like a champ and no broken ones yet! Also, Fluval did not make a pump compatible size wise for my tank).

Great way to move more water in 24 gal BC
I bought a used JBJ 24 gallon tank that still had the stock pump. First, the pump wasn't that strong; second, it was noisy. I didn't realize how noisy until I replaced it! I looked at several models and chose this one because someone with the same tank had also used it (which meant all the fitting would line up). Water flow increased quite a bit and I installed a loc-line splitter to create more movement without needing any additional equipment (I am going for only a moderate flow, not trying to create a hurricane). The noise reduction is truly awesome -- the hood fans (newly installed with LED retrofit) are louder and they are but a tiny, pleasing white-noise buzz in the background. This is a great pump for 1/2" fittings and smaller tanks. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking to trade out a noisy or less robust pump.

Quiet and the perfect flow level for our four foot tall fountain.
We recently bought an indoor fountain and almost returned it because the pump drowned out the noise of the water feature. I am so glad I did a bit of looking and found this pump. We can barely hear the pump at all.

Requires Priming to Operate in Dry Mode
The only reason I bought two of these was because they are capable of operating in inline, i.e., "dry," mode. Only to find that, in order for them to run in dry mode, they must first be primed. So you need an inline pump to prime your inline pump...unless you want to siphon by mouth every time the pump starts up. On the positive side, it is nice and quiet. On the negative side, it's totally useless as an inline pump. Really annoyed I bought these.

Works great
This is my second SICCE pump. I use these for pumping saltwater from a 5 gallon pail into my aquarium when I do regular partial water changes. This is much easier than lifting several pails and carefully pouring the water in. I bought a Syncra Silent .5 a few years ago based on my best estimate of what I would need. I underestimated and it was just barely powerful enough to lift the water 4 feet to the aquarium rim and was kind of slow. I finally decided to get a more powerful pump that would have no problem with the 4 foot "head" and which would pump a little greater volume of water. This new 1.5 does exactly what I wanted it to do. The specifications appear to be accurate as it has no problem with the 4 foot lift and now empties the 5 gallon pail more quickly. Both of the pumps are easy to use and, because the case and impeller are plastic, they are not damaged by the salt water.

Good flow, but not silent at all.
Overall, it's a good pump. Flow rate is high and the build quality is good. I bought this because it was supposed to be a very quiet internal pump, and that it is most certainly not. Not the loudest pump, but you hear it. I ended up wrapping it in a cut up silicone dish mat to help quiet it up. I hear the Ehiem compact 1000 is quieter if you too are looking for a silent aquarium pump.

This is a very good pump, and quite quiet (but not quite silent ...
This is a very good pump, and quite quiet (but not quite silent if used inline). If submerged though i'd say this pump would be barely noticeable. I had to rate this as 4 stars however due to the rated and actual flow being fairly different, the 1.5 flows about the same as am eco264 pump (measured 270, rated at 290), when it should be flowing significantly more. It is however much quieter and better built by far!

Rattles like crazy.
Pumped well, rattles a ton. Disappointed as my Sicce .5 is quiet as can be, returned the item.
