Ironwood Pacific Top-Snapper Tool for Boat Canvas Snaps

Really useful for removing old salt water seized snaps, but spray some suitable lubrication on the snap first to prevent damage. Can be useful for fastening snaps on tight fabric, as it applies force to a wider area than your fingers would. However for really tight covers, designed to force a watertight seal beneath the fabric, this tool is only partially useful. Direct hand force it still required in some cases.

This is a very sturdy, excellent tool for unsnapping our boat cover. No more struggling or hurting thumbs! Saves on stressing fabric and possible tears. I love the wrist band preventing you from dropping it in the lake. The bright red strip helps one find the tool easily. It's very worth the money!

I've broken a bunch of snaps off my cover, which is new by the way. So I figured this would help. This product works great for those tricky snaps, which are really hard to reach to or are pretty stuck. But for the typical snaps that you don't have much problems with, all this thing does is slow you down. Before you buy this, first I would suggest that you lubricate the snaps. I use bees wax, but I also heard Vaseline works nicely. That helps out far more than this product, although I've noticed that you will have to do this every couple weeks or so. If you have some really tricky snaps, or the lubrication doesn't help, this product will probably help you out. By the way, I feel like this product is slightly overpriced at $20. If it were $10 or $15, that would be more reasonable for what you get.

If you want to avoid what happened in the photo, get this! I wish I had purchased this sooner because I would have saved my knuckles. It also makes removing the cover from my tritoon a breeze!! And I don't have to worry about ripping the canvas when un-doing the snaps. Great product!

Bought this for my wife, it lets her help with the boat cover both on and off. I wasn't sure how it would work but she uses it every time now.

We live on our boat. Taking off canvas and replacing it is a way of life. Sometimes daily. As weather gets to snaps, they get tough to unsnap. This tool is great. Helps remove a snap with such ease. Such a great help. Without it, I can rip out a snap. A MUST HAVE! We will always have one on our boat!

My fishing boat has a cover that was always tight and now I cannot get it on. I bought the Top Snapper as a last resort and to my amazement, I am now able to get the top on! The cover is thirty years old and I thought that I would finally have to replace it as I couldn't get it on. The cover is in excellent condition but as a LOT of snaps. With the Top Snapper, I got it on and it is DRUM tight. It is great to get the top on as when I leave the boat at the club, I don't have to worry about taking everything out as the cover hides everything from nimble fingers. With the Top Snapper, I am able to get the cover on and off while the boat is in its slip. Great tool and really well made. The wrist lanyard is really appreciated as I don't have to worry about dropping the tool when putting the cover on in the water. High recommended!
