Coates 2-3 mm Diameter Thin Willow Charcoal, Pack of 25, Black

I'm new to drawing and sketching even newer to charcoal but didn't get great results from a different pack from a well known budget shop, they just wouldn't get dark enough for shading and just flew off the paper when I blew it! These gave me the result I wanted, well, for a beginner anyway. I have decent shading results that mean I want to keep practising instead of giving up. Bought a pack of the extra thick too.

These are on the higher quality side in terms of charcoal sticks and come at a very reasonable price! These are great if you are on a budget or don't want to spend too much on charcoal sticks

Great charcoal

I usually use soft pencils for my drawings but decided to experiment with charcoal. Oh yes, it is messy, but this sticks were so soft and lovely to use. I covered an A4 area twice easily with one stick. Great value.

I have used this charcoal for quite a few years years now for my art and animation. It got me through my BA and MA, and I will continue to use it to make work for the forseeable future. Good value for students, and producers good results. These thinner ones are great for sharper lines and finer detail, but can also be used to create really dark blacks in larger areas, though they might run out fast if used too much like this. It takes to cartridge paper nicely. Really highly recommend! A packet of mixed sizes is ideal for overall use, but if you use it a lot, like me, then bulk buying each size is easier. I tip them all out into tupperware to make them easy to grab.

This charcoal is good for blending or freehand drawing and are also versatile for other tasks. They come in a good pack of 25, so there are a good amount in the box, and the delivery was free for them also. Overall, nice product.

La maison Coates fabrique parait il les meilleurs fusains. Je n'ai rien à redire, ils sont très bien, le format mignonnette permet de faire des dessins de petite taille. Je les recommande.

Je pense que les amateurs de fusain connaissent déjà bien cette marque. J'en recommande régulièrement ce que j'aime particulièrement c'est le format un peu plus épais qui peut permettre une fois découper d'ailleurs en petits morceaux de travailler des grandes surfaces et c'est un noir légèrement grisé je dirais il est différent un petit peu de d'autres marques que j'utilise aussi mais vraiment très très bonne qualité comme toujours

ces fusain sont très bien fait, toutefois je précise qu'ils sont vraiment gris H, pour moi il a était difficile de les utiliser correctement. de plus il son très fragile et casse facilement. sinon ils offres de bon résultat une fois que l'on a compris comment les tenir en main. c'est une boite de 25 fusains, eux même dans un papier chiffon noir ( qui hélas na rien protéger, beaucoup de fusain était cassé voir écraser) bon produit quand même je recommande
