Review: Using these for power lifting! - I have foot issues. The main problem I have is bunionettes on both feet. I also need arch support and have plantar fasciitis. I have been a power lifter for years and used to lift in Chucks before I developed these issues. I found myself desperately looking for a shoe that would be roomy slough but also appropriate for lifting. I read an article that these are good so, with some trepidation, I gave them a shot. They are excellent! The padding in them is perfect for lifting as you do not want a lot of padding. But they have the arch support I need and the wider toe box needed for squats and deadlifts. I have zero foot pain after my lifting sessions. Strongly recommend! Review: ryka comin' atcha! - a few years ago, i was locked down in my house and couldn't do anything...words, something about a pandemic. so while people were putting weight on and growing foul-smelling food-catching beards, i bought a pair of ryka trainers and with their help i started working out at home using a nintendo product losing 45lbs. the lockdown ended and i happened to start dating someone who loved wine, wine tasting, and weekend road trips all over CA to procure more wine. so, i put the weight back on. we broke up in the spring and i decided to lose the weight again, and then some. i really liked the fit of my ryka's as i danced and ran around the tv losing weight. when i decided to join the new gym across the street, i bought some new ryka's, these ryka's. i needed something to hug my ankles and provide support and yet accommodate extra room for my ankle braces. i found everything i need in one place and they are sooo comfortable and supportive, you should try them too! i've started losing weight again (approx 20lbs) and i could not have done that without the gym where i get to show off the best training shoes ever!

ryka comin' atcha!
a few years ago, i was locked down in my house and couldn't do anything...words, something about a pandemic. so while people were putting weight on and growing foul-smelling food-catching beards, i bought a pair of ryka trainers and with their help i started working out at home using a nintendo product losing 45lbs. the lockdown ended and i happened to start dating someone who loved wine, wine tasting, and weekend road trips all over CA to procure more wine. so, i put the weight back on. we broke up in the spring and i decided to lose the weight again, and then some. i really liked the fit of my ryka's as i danced and ran around the tv losing weight. when i decided to join the new gym across the street, i bought some new ryka's, these ryka's. i needed something to hug my ankles and provide support and yet accommodate extra room for my ankle braces. i found everything i need in one place and they are sooo comfortable and supportive, you should try them too! i've started losing weight again (approx 20lbs) and i could not have done that without the gym where i get to show off the best training shoes ever!

Needs more support
I love the colors on the shoe and the style. When I first put them on, they felt like I was walking on clouds. They are not heavy and I wear them to work for 10-12 hours a day. The only thing I don't like, which is what influenced my overall rating, is the support. For high top shoes, you need the extra set of holes for the shoestrings going across and near the top of the tongue. This shoes does not have that which oftentimes have the tongue sliding around which makes the shoe uncomfortable. Then you can never have that tight shoe fitting as well because of the lacks of the extra set of holes which the shoes then becomes loose on my feet. I have to constantly tie them. I wanted to write a better review, but when I wear the shoes, these are the problems I am experiencing.

Comfy, snug, lightweight, and moveable
Ryka shoes are my new go-to-shoes for indoor type workouts. I wear 7 1/2 for flipflop type shoes, and 8's for tennis shoes. I bought an 8 and they have enough room for thicker socks. Smaller might not have much room and feel tighter. I bought these because they were suggested for Zumba type classes. I like the classes at the gym and these are great on their dance floors. They move easy, don't feel too bulky, have a little slide to them, and great overall fit of a shoe. My arches of my feet often hurt, but these still are great at supporting without pushing too much. I would not suggest these for intense jumping and heel-slamming classes or workouts because they don't have that much padding like cross training shoes and would not be great for your knees. I bought other Ryka's for that purpose.

Best as a Walking Shoe
UPDATED AGAIN: 12/06/2024 (Purchase date 06/2024) I purchased a new pair of shoes due to the washer/dryer mishap with the last pair. I bought a black and grey pair, and upon opening the packaging, I noticed some discoloration. I didn't really think anything of it until the discoloration became clear dry rot. By then, I had had the shoes for three months. They are still wearable, and make my feet feel great while walking and moving about, but I will likely switch to another brand that is more durable UPDATED: 4/21/24 I washed them and put them in the dryer with other clothes. The shoes melted and became warped. It was time to get new shoes anyway, but my goodness! So, I would suggest washing these and then letting them air dry. I purchased these because I really wanted some cute high-top shoes for my decrepit feet. I never realized there was a such thing as a mid-top sneaker, so I was a little skeptical of how it would look paired with my leggings. However, the pretty color swayed me to purchase these Ryka's over the other shoes I was looking at, and I am very pleased with the shoe! With this brand, I usually get a half size up (9.5) or a wide (9 wide). I also pair these with orthotic inserts to increase comfort. These shoes took some getting used to, but they are reasonably comfortable. Judging from the other reviews and based on my personal experience with the shoes, these are not meant to be high-intensity shoes for an extended period. These shoes are best for walking and standing. So, if you work in a library, museum, or any building where moderate walking is a requirement then these are perfectly fine and will likely last the normal length of time of most shoes with little difficulty. I was hoping to get these in other colors, but my size isn't available in the other color options I want. That being said, I would recommend these shoes.

High quality, comfortable and provides stability, order up a size
This is the second time I've ordered this shoe. Wears well and looks good - I originally bought a pair 2-3 years ago and only reordered because it seems whenever a sneaker wears out, it's been replaced by something cheaper. This is the same quality as the sneaker I previously ordered. I'm a size 9 in street shoes and ordered up a size; despite that, I don't have that 'big foot' look that makes me wish I was a size 7.

Great shoe and comfortable
I stopped having aching ankles after zumba once I used these shoes. Not sure the dance pad is really effective but it's okay. Also I wish I had ordered a half size large (9W) instead of my size (8.5W) as they run a bit small and I have to wear thin socks so they fit okay. Most midtops and high tops give me ankle blisters but these have a padded cushion at the back that is great. I bought for $42 and went back to amazon to buy another pair in a different color and they had more than doubled in price within two days. Very disappointed! Don't know why the price skyrocketed.

Ankle support and cushion is excellent
The minor negative stuff first: I miss the old High top Rykas I used to wear for dance, but they are never in stock. The outer sole was made of higher quality rubber, I'm not on board with the foam stuff but it seems like all shoes are made with it now so I guess I better just accept it. I just don't think it lasts as long but time will tell and I'm hard on shoes regardless. They are just a tiny bit bigger than I expected but I wouldn't buy a size smaller. I am usually a wide width in these shoes so if I buy another pair I will get the medium width. The good: I love the padded ankle support. The shoes are supportive but not so tight that they restrict blood flow. I took them out for a run today, and barely felt it in my knee and ankle. I used to dance but I actually bought these for running and lifting. I need the ankle support and I hate wearing a brace while I work out so we shall see how they hold up. I might buy a second pair to just wear around if they last. Despite the foam rubber the outer sole is made of, the shoes are put together nicely, no damage that I can see and so far they feel like a quality shoe.
