Tenda N Series Home WiFi Router (TENDA-N3)

First of all thanks to Amazon.in for featuring this brilliant product at such a low price. I bought this product on "Republic Day Sale". It is the cheapest wireless router ever. Then thanks to Tenda for such an awesome cute little product. The router works like a piece of cake and the range is also good (ideal for 2BHK). The signal never drops and no disconnection issue so far. I haven't noticed any bandwidth loss either. I've been downloading at the same speed using wifi as I used to before buying this router. Here are some pros and cons : Pros : 1> range is good (ideal for 2BHK) 2> easy setup, which means you can configure it pretty quickly 3> doesn't heat up much 4> small, portable and lightweight 5> build quality is good 6> 3 years manufacturer warranty Cons : 1> only one indicator which is for power but no indicator for network connection. [Note : I've seen a lot of people complaining about having one LAN port in this router but I don't know why because it's clearly mentioned in specification. So if you have more than one PC to connect through LAN, then this product is not for you.] Conclusion : If you are thinking of buying a high end router with single antennae and a speed of 150 Mbps, then you can try this one. It serves the purpose just like any other high end router. I've been using this product and I love it.

Packaging was alright. Contents and looks ★★★☆☆ Router, Power Cord, Ethernet (LAN) cable, CD. It looks pretty small and thus very sleek! The power cord is a nice 2 meter (6 feet) in length BUT the ethernet (LAN) cable is a VERY small just 1 foot in length! It is so short that I cannot keep the Router on my PC table and I had to keep it hanging behind my PC table! Operational Modes ★★★★★ Can be operated as WiFI Plus LAN ethernet SIMULTANEOUSLY = TESTED by me. Can be operated as WiFi Router only (WITHOUT the ethernet LAN) cable = TESTED by me. Can be operated as a LAN only = TESTED by me. Can be operated as a WiFi Repeater = NOT tested by be, but has worked for others and says so on the box! So this little guy can do pretty much EVERY thing! Speed ★★★★★ BOTH the LAN and the WiFi are pretty fast. I tested my LAN to give me 45 mbps download and 25 mbps upload speeds. I haven't tested the speed of WiFi but it was pretty snappy and lag/buffer free! Range ★★★★☆ Considering the price, the range was pretty decent. I had strategically placed it in my house and I get coverage on every corner of my 625 sq.ft house. I also get the range outside of the house to almost 10-15 feet. So I think this can work for around 1000-1200 sq.ft. homes IF placed strategically. Configuration ★★★★★ The configuration was a breeze! I had NEVER configured ANY router before and infact I had NEVER even used a WiFi! Still I was able to configure it using the VERY friendly manual and the clean and user-friendly User Interface. I just had to select my connection type (for me it was PPPoE) put the username and password and use the ISP service name. THEN I had to call my ISP so that they can reset my MAC address. IF your connection does NOT work, then call your ISP and ask them to reset the MAC and it will then work! I didn't require to install ANYTHING or even use the CD! Warranty ★★★★★ You get a 3 years replacement warranty, which is pretty nice! Pros: VERY economic price of just Rs.577 (THIS is the cheapest WiFi Router you can buy!) Awesome router. I had a Linksys 150Mbps router earlier which served me well for 4 yrs. Needed a replacement and didn't have any budget. This is worth way more than what it costs. Has one LAN port, so keep this in mind in case you want to connect more than one PC via ethernet cable. Pro: Easy to set up. Even noobs can set it up quickly. Very economical. The 5dbi antenna works astonishgly well. I had no drop in wifi strength at a distance of 40+ ft through four 4 inch thick walls. At the same distance my linksys had only one bar. Bundled ethernet cable. Didnt expect that at this price. Excellent H/W. Has a Broadcomm chipset. Same as the one used in Linksys routers. Very tiny. occupies almost no space. 2x the size of the TP-Link nan router. Con: The only complaining point is it is very light weight. With a massive antenna, the product is kinda of top heavy. The cables (LAN and WAN) if are very taut can actually move the router and raise it above the surface. Very minor issue at this price point.

Its a nice product i got it to extend my wifi signal to my present adsl router. Remember that their is no grove provided to hang or place this on wall. There was no outer box of Amazon and was shipped in the Amazon's parcel cover which had made my Product actual box bit of damage how ever their was no issues with the device. It's a nice product under Rs. 500/- it costed me 499/-

Got this router today. I was completely blind on the concept of routers so i just ordered this under best guess and hoped for the best. This router supports ACT FIBERNET. There are only one port for the Ethernet cable and another for LAN. One indicator lamp to indicate if the router is on or off. There is no switch. There are no multiple LAN ports. The whole router is extremely simple, you connect it, configure it and leave it be. You can only switch the power off in order to turn it down. The whole router is in the size of a standard sized wallet with the antenna being the lengthiest. My connection is 40Mbps and i get the complete speed in my PC as well as slightly better then 3G speed in my android mobile. I was able to view streaming videos in my mobile with no issues. My condition of usage is within 10ft with a wall in between. I get full coverage 95% of the time. I am yet to check the maximum coverage distance. The configuration is extremely easy. Just type the IP address in the browser or run the installation CD. Once you are in, type admin as password and proceed as instructed in the booklet or there is a PDF of the same in the installation CD. I entered my user name and password while setting up the router so that i don't have to log in to ACT Portal each time. When i switch on the computer the Internet is on. So this router seems simple with no advanced features. A casual user doesn't have to be bothered about advanced features. My ACT customer care advised for D-link 816, that costs around 1800/-. I have no use for some 300mbps router with dual band thing. Where i live, the way i use this Tenda N-150 makes a lot of sense. So as you can see, people who were confused with choosing a router may take a time or two to think about this. If you are in a small to reasonably well laid out home then Tenda N-150 or any other cheaper alternative would do just fine. If you like to have wider range and best coverage then go for 1500/- worth double or triple antenna routers or more. Also the box it has arrived doesn't feel like some cheap Chinese garbage. For this device the quoted price is highly reasonable. I advice as if this router is found best for your needs then go ahead order it from Amazon. Its best then buying in for a local store for a higher price. EDIT - 6/7/2017 : I had this router stay-on for 24 hrs a day and still doing fine. I am using internet on my computer through a small Wifi-adapter linked to this router instead of network cable. Absolutely no reduction in speed! There are no issues of any kind till date, just plug it and forget it. The range seems to be surprising, even a person living in the upper floor connects to my network without much trouble. He gets more than 75% of signal strength which is faster and more stable than a 3G connection.

First thing about the device is its very small and super cheap. Its a great value for money stuff.To watch my video review got to my Youtube channel NickCyberblog -You can use WIFI at any part inside your home. ,Its signal may not be that great but is suitable of personal home use. -It isn't getting heated as per my initial use. -The setup part was super easy for me. and is working perfect with windows 8.1 and my cable modem I would recommend this to anyone with a tight budget and wants a Router for normal home use. My network provider is: Asianet dataline cable broadband and i am using it with Cisco 2100 cable modem. i hope it helps you to make your purchase. I was looking for a router that could cover 900 sq.feet home , this does the job. I get single point coverage even in extreme corner of the home amidst 4 walls between. I get good "signal strength" even if the "signal level" drops. The feature I like the most is "Bandwidth Control" over wireless. you can define rules for different devices and range of devices. You need not be a technocrat to utilize all the features of router, Super simple. --------------------- Cons --------------------- This is applicable only if you plan to connect more computer via LAN. It has one WAN port (input) and only one LAN port (output). If you have plans to connect multiple devices over LAN cable instead Wireless, this isn't for you. No multiple LED's to show status, the router is built with a single status LED No WPS Button, needs to be configured through configuration page No power off switch. The cons are minor and negligible. Worth the price! :)
