Ivf: A Patient's Guide [Matthews, Rebecca] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Ivf: A Patient's Guide Review: Straight forward and helpful - I thought I knew a lot about IVF as my husband and I have been trying to understand our options for about a year now. But I'm glad I ordered this book - it is very clean and no-nonsense without sounding too techie. It is geared neither too strongly towards females or males. Definitely great supplemental reading if you have decided to take the plunge and want to learn more about the timeline and procedures of an IVF path! Review: but great information about the science behind the IVF process and ... - Very informative! Quick read. Provides realistic expectations to IVF outcomes. Describes the decline from follicle count to actual embryo count. (I thought this was helpful as I was unaware that the drastic decline was normal.) This is not really a book about what to do in the months leading up to IVF, but great information about the science behind the IVF process and what to expect. Great book!

good info
I have gone through a cycle of IVF this year and did not read any books prior to the process. Getting ready to go through another cycle I wanted to get more info and checked out several books. This one so far has been very informative and helps guide me through knowing what questions are important to ask the next time around. Since the author has worked in an IVF lab, she presents not only thorough information but puts it out there in a way that is easy to understand, especially if you have already gone through an IVF cycle already. I would recommend this book for anyone going through IVF.

Useful guide
Very informative and quite technical. I enjoyed the section about what you can do yourself to enhance your chances and the section about real life stories. Useful guide for anyone embarking on the IVF journey who wants to empower themselves with information.

Great Current Information
This book is a terrific read from novice to experienced in the area of infertility. After reading I recommended that family members who were interested in what we were going through. I really liked all of the studies at the end of the book. It seemed that this book is very current on ivf process and provides wonderful resources for answering questions and even provides questions to ask at your site.

Important read for anyone considering IVF
I found this so helpful. I'm glad that I read it so soon after finding out that we'd need to do IVF because there is so much I didn't know that makes a big difference when choosing a clinic. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who newly finds out they are dealing with infertility.

Great resource!
This book is such a great resource for anyone going through IVF. The author gets down to the science of things and the pictures of what is going on are so helpful. Coming from a medical background I really appreciated this book. And for those not from a medical background it is written in a way everyone can understand. My husband and I are about to go through IVF and will definitely be using this book throughout the process.

Useful book but poorly edited
This book is packed with good info in plain language. It offers a thorough introduction to IVF, though you will have to look further for complex info or details you'll want later in your journey. Grammar and spelling is appalling, with especial carelessness in punctuation. At best, it's distracting; at worst, you'll have to reread every fourth or fifth sentence to clarify meaning. Nevertheless, the book is still a good and informative read.

I got all the books available and this is the only one which gave facts, relevant information and a realistic IVF rather than a negative one as the majority of the books about assisted fertility. The information given is update. This book is a great guide so far the best I have found in my search.
