Very good sound quality for what they are, build quality is great too and the ambient lights are perfect for a smaller set up. The controls are okay, the unit is controlled by the buttons on the right speaker. I wish it had a usb type c or a cable instead of the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack but for the price it isn’t bad.

The speakers look smart in their matt black case with glossy black front. One speaker has touch controls in the recess. Some of the controls have two functions. Each speaker has a LED downlight in the recess, the colour and other effects can be changed or the light can be turned off. There is a good length USB-C cable that connects to the PC etc. This should be plenty long enough, but it can be extended if required by adding a USB-C Male to Female extension cable. The length of cable between the speaker should be long enough for most uses, especially when using the speakers either side of the PC. The cable connections are fixed and cannot be extended. I tried a variety of different albums and, overerall, the speakers have a good sound. I did find that sometimes the sound seemed a little 'tinny' and the bass could have been better (there is no way to change the treble or bass levels), but the speakers were perfectly satisfactory for desktop use or reasonable use as bluetooth speakers. The bluetooth connection worked fine when tried with my mobile and tablet. I did install the app, but uninstalled it after the app was stuck on searching for a device when I first ran it. The app also insists on you agreeing to certain things during installation or it won't let you go any further.

Sound-wise, they’re surprisingly good for the size. You’re not getting room-shaking bass, but for near-field listening (sat at a desk), they’re clear and balanced. If I had to nitpick, they’re not particularly powerful (around 5W total output), so they’re best suited for personal desk use rather than filling a large room. Also, like most speakers at this size/price, bass is present but not especially punchy. Overall, though, they do exactly what you’d want from compact PC speakers—clean sound, simple setup, and a few modern extras thrown in. Ideal for everyday use if you’re after something neat, affordable, and fuss-free rather than full-on hi-fi.

I got these speakers to use on my desk with my computer. I wanted something decent, but not overly expensive. I have had other kit from Edifier in the past, so was quite excited to try these. Size-wise, they are a nice size for a desk at almost 18cm high and just over 8cm wide. The cabinets feel well-built and are made of MDF rather than plastic. On the front there is the 2.75-inch driver with a bass port just underneath it. The cavity just below it is sealed, but on the bottom has touch-sensitive controls. These work quite nicely, though as I really only use the speakers, I don't tend to use them as I control the volume through my computer. There is a range of input options: aux, Bluetooth, and USB. The USB is also what delivers the power, so I just use that and keep the cables to a minimum. The USB cable is 1.5m and the cable between the speakers is 1.8m, so they can almost reach either end of my 2m desk, though that would ruin the stereo effect, so in practice I have them much closer together. From the bottom section there is some RGB lighting; it isn't overly in your face like some, but it does indicate that the speakers are working. The sound is quite good for the size. Being small, you are never going to get rumbling bass or really sparkling highs, but what you do get is surprisingly neutral and well presented. Yes they live mostly in the mids, but they don't have that artificial mid-forward sound like an old telephone. Given the quality of similarly sized speakers, these are really nice - I find them detailed and not very muddy. For a music choice, most mainstream pop/rock would be good, less so EDM and other bass heavy styles. Accoustic would be okay, but may feel hemmed in by the lack of highs. When connected via Bluetooth, there is the option of installing the app, which allows for equalising the speakers and adjusting the colours of the lighting. Bluetooth pairing is easy and fast, and on the occasions I tried it, it worked well with good signal strength. I think these are good speakers for the price - a nice size and sound, with great connectivity options.

These Edifier speakers provide great looks, solid build quality and a rich and pleasing sound. The speakers are supplied boxed in retail packaging and are very well packed in robust and soft materials to protect the high gloss speaker fronts. The speakers are obviously modern but with an elegant classic undertone. With a gloss black frontage they feature solid MDF cabinets and quality soft rubber coated wiring. Both speakers feature an illuminated lower panel that looks fantastic. I’ve let them white but various other colours can be chosen. The speakers are really versatile. They’re powered through a single USB-C cable and can take their juice from a laptop, power bank, games console etc. When plugged into a Mac they were instantly recognised and selectable from the audio menu. Alternatively, a quick press of the input button (at the base of the speaker) selects Bluetooth mode, and my tablet and phone found the speakers and connected instantly. The side of the speaker also has an AUX port and a 3.5mm headphone jack, so they can be used with all types of devices. Sound quality is very good. I have to mention price as, at £59.99 (at the time of writing this) I didn’t expect room filling bass, but I was pleasantly surprised with how well balanced and rich the audio is. Trebles are clean and Mids are punchy and energetic. Bass is decent, especially given the size of the speakers (approx. 170mm high x 85mm wide x 105mm deep) and the overall sound is warm, rich and balanced. I noticed a small amount of distortion whilst testing at high volume using very bass heavy music, but it’d be necessary to spend hundreds to find speakers that could handle those tracks perfectly. Overall, the audio impresses and the well balanced stereo soundstage will keep the vast majority of users very happy. So they’re beautifully designed speakers that are easy to recommend and provide great value for money.

I ordered these Edifier R20BT speakers in white for my home PC setup, and they've been a really solid addition to my desk. For a set of compact USB powered speakers, they sound pretty good. They handle everything from watching videos to having music on in the background perfectly well delivering a nice, clear sound. The main thing that stands out for me though is the lighting. The built in LEDs look absolutely great, especially in the evening. They cast a really nice ambient glow around the workspace that adds a bit of character without being glaring or distracting while you're looking at the screen. The Bluetooth connection is another strong point; it pairs up instantly when I want to stream from my phone and holds a stable connection without any annoying dropouts. If you're looking for a reliable stylish set of speakers for daily computer use, these do the job brilliantly.
