ACE Brand Reusable Cold Compress - Large

First impression: Large, flexible easy to use cold pack. This reusable cold compress is very handy to have. I have been using it for some time now and have found it to be my favorite cold pack I have used. Its larger size means I only need to use one where in the past I would need to use 2 of the smaller pads. It fits flat in my freezer taking up very little room but always ready when I need it. The construction seems very solid. The cover is a thick vinyl type material that after a great amount of use has not punctured. Most cool packs will leak if you puncture them or abuse them. It seems to take several hours to completely come to its coolest point but even then it is not solid as a rock (which is good) because you need a bit of flexibility to bold it to the part of the body where you need it. It is best if you try to flatten out the gel inside prior to putting in the freezer or you will end up with it taking the shape it was when you put it in. I enjoyed the product so much I bought a second one just so I could have a spare. You can put it directly on your skin but make sure that if the pack is too cold for the area that you put a towel over the pack as it could damage your skin if you leave it on too long (it is a cold pack after all). Conclusion: Well-crafted, good quality, large cold compress that is easy to use and store in the freezer. I have had many varieties of cold packs but this has become my favorite. Do not abuse it and it should last you for several years.

I've been using these Ace ice packs for years. They store nicely in a freezer bag and they go through the sani cycle in the dishwasher to keep them clean. The fabric is not the typical plastic that sweats, this is almost like a fabric and works way better. They last a long time, I use them frequently and run them through the dishwasher constantly. They freeze well but they mold instantly to wherever you place them. Thank you, Amazon, for selling these, they are hard to find in stores.

I have two of these reusable cold compresses that are at least eight years old. A recent minor injury prompted me to order a couple more and I keep all of them in the freezer at all times. After reading some of the other experiences here I worried that the quality had severely declined but so far they are performing perfectly with no leakage or other problems. These form well around small injured areas, stay cold for around 15 minutes, and while they have substance are not too heavy when resting on sore points. Hopefully whatever the problem was in the recent past has been resolved and these will last a good long time, just like my old compresses.

I remember having one of these in my dad's house when I was a kid, and was SO EXCITED to find it on Amazon as well!! The incredible thing about this ice pack is that it is filled with some kind of gel-like substance that freezes and gets (and stays!) super cold for a very long period of time, but IT'S NOT HARD!! This is awesome because if you've ever had a bump or bruise that you try to put a plastic baggie of ice cubes on, you know that it can hurt more because those are hard as rocks. The soft fabric of this combined with the gel substance inside that freezes but isn't hard is a literal miracle for bumps and bruises that are tender but need to be iced. When I was small, I sprained my ankles a LOT. We always put this ice pack on my ankles and it provided sweet, sweet relief without hurting them more. Now, as an adult myself, I got the chance to re-try this out just a couple of days after I received it (and promptly stuck it in the freezer). We were trying to bring a flat-bed dolly inside the house over a steep threshold and we got it inside but the flat bed of the dolly - metal, of course - slammed into my shin, causing it to instantly welt up. I knew what to do! I hobbled to my freezer, grabbed this ice pack, and plopped on the couch with it, putting it on my shin and leaving it on for about 30 minutes. 1. My shin is no longer swollen and the bruise is very light (this only happened two days ago). 2. It felt soooo nice and didn't hurt it further as a plastic baggie with ice would have. I also get migraines a lot, and the day after the dolly incident, I happened to have one. I took this ice pack out of the freezer and placed it, rolled up, under my neck as I laid my head back on the couch cushions, and within 10-15 minutes, my migraine was a lot better than it was before! I did have to remove it after that period of time because I started getting a little brain freeze and that wouldn't have helped at all, but the ice pack was still ice cold (ha, see what I did there?) and would have continued to stay cold. So, as someone who has used this ice pack both in my childhood and now in my adult life, BUY IT!! I am going to be ordering several more to have on hand as well for aches, pains, bumps, bruises, and headaches. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! 10/10

They dont sell these very commonly anymore, I don't get why but these are by far the best cold pack I have ever used. They are comfortable and easy to use. Throw it in the freezer and forget about it until you want it. When I am having a hot flash I grab one and wrap it snugly around my neck, the silky soft material combined with the cold temperature feels wonderful. I have seen other cold packs and tried them but the materials are usually a cheap plasticky feel or are too rough on my skin. As the pack becomes cool (not freezing) i leave it there on my neck and fall asleep, just shows you how soft and comfortable the material is. Also the fact that it is a gel pack maks it even better as once the freeze is off and its cold it conforms to your body where you put it completely. These truly have saved me and my parents numerous times from having to get the old school ice bottle

This is not a huge ice pack but it is larger than many. Perfect for my ankle. Stays cold at least 30 mins, refrezes quick, soft, well made and comfy. I got this for less then 10 bucks ,it's great at that price point. If I had paid the original price of more than double I may not have been so happy.

Feels great and no need for a towel or anything between your body and the product. This is a great thing to have around and always leave in the freezer. The size is great for smaller areas and I might be getting a larger one soon. It stays cold for around 30 min and I only use it for about 15 min at a time. Item doesn't leak but does give off a slightly wet feeling. This defeats the part about not having to have a towel with it. However if you don't mind or you make sure it doesn't touch something you don't want to get wet then it's not a problem. Would buy the same product again. Great to have around when you hit it a little to hard in the gym

currently i am dealing with sciatica and need to keep icing my back. i purchased 2 of these packs and they have been a godsend. they are the perfect size to place on my lower back and can easily help for your neck or other part of the body as its a size that works well anywhere. depends on how cold u have your freezer set it will either be a bit stiff or completely lose like a before you placed it in the freezer, but either way it holds the cold very well. the fabric itself feels like cloth and is designed to go right on your skin instead of needing to be wrapped in a towel which is nice. you can place it on and not feel the burn on your skin. i ice my back for a bout 25-30 minutes at a time and the packs last long enough to do the job. once you put them back in the freezer they take less than two hours before you can use them again. if you are unlucky like me and need to ice your aching body then i highly recommend this product.
