This model is one of the last MacBook Pro models that you can do a storage upgrade to, but ONLY when using an adapter such as this one. There are videos you can watch online that will give you an idea of how involved the process is. I would say it is a moderate level of difficulty, but will be worth it in the end, giving new life to your MBP. I have this new part installed and ready to go, along with a brand new MBP battery. The fitment appears to be perfect. But unfortunately I have to wait for the WD SSD that I want to order to arrive back in stock, estimating 2-4 weeks.
