Well made and easy to use, but pricey.
It was time for a replacement cookie press so I did some research. Marcato came up near the top of all the reviews (and prices!). I was tending towards a different less expensive brand when an extremely good cyber Monday offer popped up. I did a test batch using my old faithful spritz cookie recipe rather than the one in the video and manual. I'd say it was a success. I did follow the manufacturer's suggestion to chill the cookie sheets (on the cold back porch since my fridge isn't wide enough for my cookie sheets). Pros: Easy to use. I roll the dough into a cylinder and insert it into the barrel. The plastic handle extension is sturdy, feels comfortable in the hand, and provides more leverage. There are two size choices for each click of the handle and the cookies were well formed. It was also easy to make extended sections of dough for the wreaths. Reviews say this press accommodates the heavier dough for cheese straws, but I haven't tried that yet. Except for the handle extension and pressing disc, the press is entirely made of metal as are the cookie dies. Cleaning is pretty easy (hand wash only) as very little dough remains in the cylinder. However, some dough does get stuck in the grooves on the back side of the pressing plate which can be a bit fiddly to clean. Cons: The hefty price if you don't get a discount. Also, be careful not to drop as the leading edge can dent on a hard surface. Bottom line: I'm happy I hit the buy button.

Excellent product and easy to use!
This is the first cookie press that I have ever owned so I can not compare it to others but I can list why I liked it so much: • It is well made! Metal and isn’t flimsy. Quality made! • It is easy to clean. Smooth edges on the tube, the handles, the press disks and everything else the dough comes i to contact was smooth and made for easy, quick, hand washing. • I bought the blue and it is a gorgeous color. Doesn’t hurt to enjoy looking at the items you’re using in the kitchen, right? Makes it fun when baking. • I followed tips on Pinterest to chill your cookie sheets, don’t use parchment paper, and to make a fairly firm dough. • The recipe for a basic butter cookie dough in the booklet that comes with it was good tasting and enjoyable. Though I must admit again, I used a recipe I found on Pinterest as a go-to recipe as well as experimenting with my own recipes (shown in images is a custom made pumpkin-spice recipe that was hit with all of my family on Thanksgiving). • I loved the variety of disks that it came with, too. Something for holidays and for every-days, and with experimenting some could be used for almost every holiday. Plus you can make cookies of almost every shape from round, to oblong, to fancy flowers, trees, and stars. All-in-all this product has exceeded my expectations as to what it was going to be. It is a quality made product and I am very happy with my purchase!

Lovely Cookie Press
I moved and couldn't find my old cookie press my mother gave me 30 years ago so purchased this one based on Amazon reviews. I used a dough recipe that worked fine in my previous cookie press that has a screw on top you turned to adjust the amount of dough that came out. This cookie press has a trigger you pull with two settings to choose from for amount of cookie dough that comes out. I made several cookie sheets of spritz cookies. There were two molds that worked better than the others which I found interesting. I stuck with those two since I didn't feel like figuring out how to get the other shapes to work well. The others I tried that didn't work would not deposit the dough on the cookie sheet, the dough would stay stuck in the bottom of the press, so the dough came out the bottom but wouldn't "stick" to the cookie sheet. As I said it worked fine with two of the molds I tried. Molds is probably not the word to use here but to lazy to get up, find the instructions to see what Marcato calls them. The press is beautiful, well made of quality materials and feels substantial in your hand. My old press was aluminum, looked quite hokey and was anything but substantial but I had used it for years and years and knew how to make it work. As fate would have it, I found my old press a few days after using the new Marcato. I will keep both. I have no doubt that after using the Marcato a few more times I will know all the nuances to make it work with every mold without any problems.

Slick looking
I haven't baked in years, and I remembered that I always enjoyed making Spritz cookies. As a kid baker, I used my mom's wide bodied aluminum Mirro press that held a ton of cookie dough. That was back when everyone used the red hard cover Betty Crocker cookbook (now selling for $369 on Amazon! WOW!). Now the market is flooded with the plastic 'made in China' cookie presses. I tried one years back and hated it. Since I have the urge to bake this season and I have a much bigger kitchen now, I set out to find a non plastic durable cookie press. Well Marcato fit the bill. I love that it came in black because I am so tired of all the stainless steel appliances that just feel soulless to me. It comes in a nice tidy box with a lovely recipe booklet, which is an added touch that is missing these days. It is a perfect gift for your favorite baker. It was smaller than I expected, only because I remember my mom's press from a past life. I set out to make an experimental batch of orange low carb spritz cookies of which the recipe I found online. It called for flour and sugar substitutions which ultimately changes the chemistry of the original Spritz recipe. Working with the press took a little learning curve and human response time to perfect the cadence of the press (due to the fluffier dough). The press is very efficient, and once you get the cadence perfected, the cookies come out perfectly uniform. Hesitate, and the sizes will vary. I found that a single to 1-1/2 clicks created perfect cookies depending on the pattern. The press really is pretty and looks very professional. It feels good operationally and is fun to use. I also purchased the matching black Marcato flour duster for powdered sugar (white or with cocoa) for cookies and cakes, which I am awaiting delivery. I attached a photo of orange low carb spritz cookies using food coloring and chocolate chip center.

Better Press, Better Cookies.
I've been through at least 4 cookie presses in the past decade, all of which have been relatively expensive and supposedly high-quality". After losing yet another one this past Christmas, I decided to spend a bit extra in hopes of not having to replace it next year. I've used this press 4 times now and it is absolutely fantastic. The press is easy to use, easy to clean, and the different plates are easy to change out. With the other presses I've used (and owned) in the past, it usually took a few tries before depositing a "full-sized", even/symmetrical design; with this press, however, it will dispense the shape correctly the first time and keep dispensing evenly until there's no more dough left. This makes this press not only less frustrating, but also improves the overall quality of the cookies because you're not having to scrape partially deposited or uneven dough off your baking sheet so that it can be run back through the press, a process common with the other presses I've used. Ultimately, this makes for a final cookie that has a better texture and noticeably more tender (having to reload the other presses with dough thats already gone through the deposited further develops the gluten in the flour and toughens the cookies). Since most recipes for dispensed cookies are heavy on butter, it's important the dough stay cool and not be handled excessively so the butter does not begin to melt. The reliability and design of this press means your dough will stay cool, the butter won't begin to melt from spending too much time at room temp or as a result of the need to load the dough into the press over and over again as is the case with other cookie presses.

Look no longer--this is the cookie press you want!
I can't believe I didn't review this after I purchased it a year ago! I make large quantities of cheese straws every Christmas season. I had an old 50's-vintage Mirro cookie press (screw-down type) that I used for years until the part that you pressed down on gave way about 15 years ago. Then I went through several in quick succession--screw-down, lever-type, battery-operated--and none of them held up. Plastic parts, etc., couldn't manage the stiffness of the dough. So I couldn't make the classic, star-shaped cheese straws for years. Instead I had to roll them out and cut into strips. (Still tasted good, just not as pretty!) Ordered this awesome cookie press from Amazon and it worked like a dream. Took me 2 hours, start to finish, to mix dough, form, and bake almost 1000 cheese straws. A year later (with multiple outings making cheese straws), it still works as well as the day I bought it. I don't understand the reviews that say it is difficult to use or your hand cramps because you have to hold it so hard. The lever action is very easy and requires minimal effort. This is a great piece of equipment and worth every penny. It is going to last!

Fantastic Cookie Press
This cookie press arrived quickly and was very well packaged. The cookie press parts are nicely fit into a foam shape in the box so it is easy to return the press to the box for storage. It came with a very nice instruction book that has several different languages, has wonderful illustrations, and great recipes for what I would consider European style biscuits - which are not as sweet or soft as the cookies I am used to in Canada (however - they are still delicious and pair very well with coffee or tea). However, any other pressed cookie/spritz cookie recipe works beautifully with this press! I have made dozens of cookies now using both old and new recipes and its easy to use and swapping the plates for the types is very easy. The cookies can be made into two thicknesses (I made pink wreaths to go with the pink hearts I made on valentines and you can see the difference in thickness between the two settings). My 3yo's help as well with putting dough into the press and helping me pull down the lever to make the cookie on the baking sheet. It makes them helping me in the kitchen a lot less messy and more fun for everyone. They love to press cookies and then add sprinkles! Very much worth the cost on getting a nice all metal press compared to some of the plastic ones I have tried in the past that eventually failed on me.

Funktioniert prima

Top! Je suis enchantée!!!
