Enables 2016 Macbook Pro with Apple Cinema Display
This solves a problem connecting a 2016 MacBook Pro (with USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports) to an Apple Cinema Display. The Cinema Display uses mini display port, which (although the connector is physically the same) is not the same as Thunderbolt 2 as used on the Apple Thunderbolt Display, ie. the Apple 'Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter' does not work with the older Cinema Display. So, to solve the problem, I bought this adapter, plus the 'USB 3.1 Type c to DisplayPort Adapter, ICZI Gold 4K USB 3.1 Type c to DP Cable Connector for Apple MacBook(12inch, 2015.), Google ChromeBook Pixel' also on Amazon, plugged one into the other and now can use the display with my new MacBook Pro. It's not the most elegant solution - another 'dongle hell' problem (thanks Apple) - and it cost £30 for both adapters, but it's a good workaround and display quality is fine. The manufacturing quality (plastic parts) of this adapter is not quite what you would expect for £19, but it does the job.

Arrivato in meno di 24h, ho collegato un pc hp prodesck con uscita video display port al cinema display 27" della Apple che ha solo uscita minisplay maschio. Risultato lo schermo viene riconosciuto immediatamente appena si connette la usb e funziona tutto audio compreso, video anche in 4k. Ottimo adattatore per continuare a usare un display datato ma con prestazioni eccezionali.

Non c'è molto da dire su un prodotto come questo, utilizzato per alcuni anni in combinazione con il cavo DP fornito con un monitor EIZO Coloredge, quindi monitor di fascia pro, ha funzionato sempre in modo eccellente, senza interruzioni e fastidi. Avendo comprato un secondo monitor uguale al primo, ho ricomprato anche questo adattatore. Consigliato.

Ci ho collegato il mio Apple Cinema Led da 27" alla scheda video READON RX 580. Funziona davvero bene, arrivato in un giorno. Indispensabile se si vuole cambiare scheda video per aggiornare il proprio MacPro ormai datato.
