3M Sanding Sponge Block, 6-Pack, 3.75 x 2.63 in

I can't find these at Home Depot anymore so I was happy to find them here, I use them in my pet tag business.

When I received this product my first impression is that it's coarse, which is deceiving, because after using it on several projects, it truly is extra fine grit and I am definitely sold on this awesome product. I have purchased these a couple of times already and I will continue to order more in the future. It is a great product.

This worked really well when used to sand between coats and spackling. I am very pleased with this purchase and the number you get with it. If I were to be constructively critical, I might suggest they make one of the edges angled to assist with the occasional challenging spot. Also, because you get a box full, numbering each unit so that you can keep track of them and not just keep going back to the box because you know you have a ton, would save time and waste (if especially if you’re working around other contractors who might have similar-looking units lying around).

These appear to be made of a rough exterior material (as opposed to gluing sand to a sponge) so they don't leave behind grains of grit. Last long and make sanding much easier that a hard block (which too often cuts all the way through the paint to show the primer or base material).

I use this for cleaning. You can scrape off the limestone residue from hard water by scrabbling with this sponge. It works well. But as you use, it gradually wear off. So you will need multiple.

I bought these to sand down one of my doors in my house that had gotten to the point where it was rubbing the door jam. It worked great and I’m able to use them in other projects around the house and outside.

I bought these for finishing small carving projects, for which I need things that can quickly get into small crevasses, and make quick work of flat planes. I have sanding sponges that are far finer than these, however, and I wasn't particularly impressed with them overall. (Wishing that people would start listing the grit on the packaging! This is more like a fine, not extra fine.) The edges tear quite easily after only a few sanding jobs, so they do not seem to last as long as other sponges I have; and for some reason, they are more difficult to clean than my other sponges.

3M font des excellents produits cependant pour ces pads, le grain dit -extra fin - était plutôt grossier ( 220?) Je m’attendais à un 320 / 420 ! Pas le cas bref, trop rude pour la finition de ma peinture à la craie! Je vais quand même les utiliser pour autre chose!

These are advertised as extra fine but feel like about 220 grit. I bought them for sanding primer on a car restoration project but they don't cut as well as as the 3M 320 grit paper that I have been using.
