Mind Opening
This is a dense read, but honestly life changing in terms of its impact on my feelings about educational pedagogy.

Incredible and a must-read for all educators
I did my undergraduate and master's degrees in education, taught for thirteen years, had to experience the oppression of the education system, then return for my doctorate before I got to read this book. I wish we started teacher education with this awareness instead of saving it for the highest levels of the educated.

Oppression Praxis
This was required for one of our social work research courses at the graduate level. At first, I wasn’t sure what to make of whatever was being presented as a sociopolitical marker— but the current reminder between Antifa & BLM seemed to creep up with the dispersed tonality that shaped being the oppressed from the Oppressor in this relationship. The contents from the author’s point of view was incisive to utilize writing our research papers and as reference material about diversity and inclusion.

Tough language, but fantastic views
I purchased this book for a college course. However, the language was extremely difficult to follow. With a professor to decipher some of the wording, I came to realize that this book may be a true masterpiece. I simply wish it were easier to follow. Nonetheless this was a great read!

Book and Audible
I highly recommend this book if you are wanting to learn more about teaching and learning and its comparison to oppression. The author provides insightful concepts and made me think abouthow to be more effective when teaching students and learning from teachers. I enjoyed the book so much, I purchased it on audible and for another friend.

Well Written!
This book is well written and provides a multitude of issues in the field of education. I did find that many of the applications Friere covered were "heavy" and required some deep reflection. As an educator, all newer teachers should read it to acclimate to our current educational climate. The book is a building block for other authors, so it is a must-read for those wanting to change the way we work within educational institutions!

An indesensible text on teaching for the politically engaged educator or the political organizer alike. Macedo's introduction in this edition is informative. This book is often referenced but rarely actually studied--it is about much more than just the "banking model of education" (a concept not even original to Freire, though he coined that phrase), but rather about the pedagogical character of revolution. It is not without its flaws, reflecting some theoretical errors of Freire's various influences, from humanists to phenomenologists, but is essential reading for anyone interested in Marxism, especially those interested in teaching.
