THE bread knife!!!
This is a fantastic bread knife, very well-made. I got in trouble for buying it. "Why do we need another bread knife?" Now she grabs it and trusts it to do the jobs like baguettes and sourdough, with the rustic crusts we have been fighting with for years. This bread knife does those jobs with ease. The best part is that the bread doesn't get squished when you cut it; it stays intact. Just let the knife do ALL the work; you don't have to force it or apply undue pressure.
