GameSir X5s Bluetooth Mobile Gaming Controller for Switch 2/Switch/Android/iPhone/iPad mini, Hall Effect Joystick, Lightweight Ergonomic Phone Controller- Play Genshin Impact & Zenless Zone Zero

I used this controller way more than I expected I would. Its useful for emergency gaming with your cousins and you need an extra controller for the Nintendo switch (1 and 2). You can connect it to practically any device with Bluetooth which is sick. Iphone gaming, pc gaming. Only minor issue that could probably be fixed by messing with the settings is that it has this weird acceleration. This makes it almost impossible to play shooting games where you need absolute precision. Also it is really small, so big handed people will for sure have problems. Overall it is a very versatile and portable controller that has great battery life.

Update 2: And now the 2nd controller has developed the same faulty left trigger, with the recent firmware updates not helping. Update: I bought another controller because of the Black Friday sale, and I won the “lottery” by getting one without the left trigger issue. I won’t rate it five stars because GameSir hasn’t done enough to publicly caution the defects, even if their Discord support is good. Original Review: GameSir indeed shipped a defective product with the left trigger always activating. It is a known issue if you look on the GameSir subreddit or on their Discord. The "fix" is to calibrate the controller and keep it always charging, making it an inconvenience if you're not near an outlet or you're not plugged into another device. So far, none of the firmware or resets of the turbo make the left trigger work on its own, which is a shame because every other button works perfectly. Besides that, the HD Rumble works great on my Switch 2 and the compact size, while not as comfortable as the G8 Plus, is better than the Joy-Con 2 due to its grips. There are some disconnects to my Switch 2, but I'm okay with that since I don't play online games. Unfortunately I'll have to keep this device until GameSir recalls or at least extends the warranty.

Amazing controller!! It fits well in your hands, pretty comfortable to use for long hours (lightweight as well). Took about 10 min to set up with phone and Switch 2, then works perfectly. Fits well and secured for the Switch 2 and my ZFold 7. It will not fit a regular size tablet (I tried Samsung S9). The controller comes with a hard case for protection during transportation, and battery lasted well, very easy to use overall once it's setup. Love it!

Absolutely Amazing! Update: After weeks of ownership, I am definitely loving this, the only problem is sometimes I randomly disconnect from the controller for a few seconds and it reconnects automatically, I'm not sure why but it may have to do with all the wireless connections in the apartment buildings causing interference, so if you live in an apartment building be on the look out for that, other than that, it's fantastic 😍 Original: Set it to Android Mode, waaaay less latency feels as good as my wireless Xbox controller, and the fact this works so well with my S25+ inside an OtterBox Defender Case which is bulky as heck, is even more great! I do have to say the only issue I've had is sometimes the weird random lag that happens rarely and the comfort is pretty good but I do wish it was bigger, I am extremely happy since there is no silly useless back buttons, thank you!

Great Bluetooth controller. Obviously not going to feel as beefy and comfortable as a full size controller, but it’s absolutely usable and comfortable for its intended purpose. Travel. Time will tell with durability, but I don’t think that will be a problem. Sticks feel good and so do the triggers. One thing I will say, is unless you plan on using it on a switch, I highly highly recommend that you keep it in DualShock 4 mode so you can use both analog triggers and broader compatibility among native games and game streaming. I had to calibrate mine out of the box as my left trigger was non-functional, but after a firmware update and calibration, it worked great. Tested it with COD Mobile, Destiny Rising, GTA 3, and Steam Link with my PC. All worked great. I had to do some minor tweaks in settings for COD Mobile, but everything else I tested worked out of the box in DualShock 4 mode. Just buy it if you’re on the fence. Tested it with an iPhone 17 Pro Max in an ESR Hybrid clear case and it was really close/snug with the case on, but fit perfectly.

Pros: very compact for mobile gaming and people with small hands (i.e. kids!). My kids love it! Cons: small for average to large adult hands, resulting in uncomfortable cramped gaming experienced compared to other better alternatives out there. Set up and switching between different profiles is a bit of pain (button combinations are hard to remember). Also, defective out of the box due the quality control issues, see below. Disappointed that the controller was defective out of the box. A quick online search confirmed this particular model has a known issue with the LT being stuck and although calibration may be a workaround it shows a quality control and design problem with the manufacturer. Hopefully no other issues appear later on! Lastly, lack of pass-through audio and charging makes this a non-ideal setup for serious gaming.

Great controller! Simple to setup and connect. Long lasting battery and the ability to charge it while in the case is cherry on top. Only negative is because of the size of the controller, I expect the cramped feeling and that's the trade off, but the right joystick is very close to bottom button. Accidentally pressing it some times.

First the GameSir 5XS is surprisingly small. It’s bigger than a joycon but smaller than the grips on an Xbox controller. The direct competitor from 8bitdo Xbox style controller is far closer to a standard controller size. The joystick are small with short throws just a tad bigger than joy cons but no where near as long as the 8bitdo or a standard Xbox controller. For portability it’s light but not compact. The frustration comes in paring. It’s not intuitive and you will need the manual. Once you get it to pair it’s snappy. My main issue and cause for completely disappointment is out of the box there was phantom clicks of the buttons. The left trigger would be in a constantly state of activation that made playing any game impossible. No amount of troubleshooting resolved. Really the 8bitdo Bluetooth Xbox branded one is the better controller. Only reason to get this one is for the connectivity with the switch but end of the day it’s just not reliable enough or comfortable enough to keep. Just doesn’t feel good in the hands.

J'ai essayé le G8+, bonne manette, un peu bcp trop lourde mais j'ai dû la retourner car l'un des boutons interchangeables ne fonctionnait plus. J'ai donc commandé cette manette, la gamesir x5s. Un pur bonheur ! Elle est légère, légère... Très ergonomique quoi ! Je m'en sers principalement pour l'émulation ps2, GameCube et switch avec une tablette 9 pouces, un régal. Puis de plus en plus la gâchette R2 ne fonctionne plus. Ayant passer le délai de retour j'étais déçu car c'était une excellente manette. J'ai dû donc m'adapter pour résoudre ce problème R2 en appuyant jusqu'à la réactiver. Dégoûté quand même.

Pretty great little controller for Switch 2. Much more comfortable in my hands. Only reason for 4* is that there were no tweezers in the box as described for swapping the buttons around, so that was quite a challenge. *Edit. I found the tweezers, they are quite hidden in the carry case, but they are there. So all around great product.

Sin duda es un mando excelente y funciona espectacular, sin embargo mi unidad llego defectuosa. Lo use normalmente, le hice la primera carga y lo utilice un rato mas. Al almacenarlo en su funda durante apenas unas horas cuando toco la funda lo noto excesivamente caliente y desprendiendo olor a quemado. Despues de eso el mando funciona correctamente pero se drena la bateria sin darle uso. He iniciado la devolucion, pero he realizado otro pedido con la esperanza de poder disfrutar una unidad en buen estado. Ya que el correcto funcionamiento del mando es una experiencia muy satisfactoria. Edit: Tras la devolcion y la compra de uno nuevo que recibi en perfecto estado, el vendedor se puso en contacto conmigo mostrando todo interes en solucionar el problema con el producto y recibi una reembolso del producto en buen estado que recibi. Desde luego muestran mucho interes en su producto y sus clientes. Ha sido una experiencia satisfactoria y un producto excelente despues de todo.

Il controller, pure non essendo di grande dimensione, si impugna facilmente ed è facile pure usare i pulsanti dorsali. Sinceramente, non trovo nessun ritardo con il bluetooth ed avendo un foldable, non avevo troppa scelta. Con Retroxel e questo controller sono tornato subito agli anni '80 e '90 ed ho finito tutti quei giochi dei cabinati che dopo averci speso le mille lire di budget abbandonavo al primo livello. La felicità a portata di controller ;-)
