Let me tell everyone about this mount, at first the instructions were vague, took it a bit to figure it out. I gave up cuz I thought they would not hold my 8 pounder ATMOS speaker’s. They didn’t have any weight limits stated in the listing not anyplace. I set up the return and repacked everything up to return the next day. In the meantime I looked hi and low for a replacement, there just isn’t any with this quality out there. I didn’t want anything that looked cheap. Although I really couldn’t hide the wires, the did come with nice covers to hide the screws. After much search I came across these mounts again this time the listing had bigger speakers? Hum, same product, different speakers? I took a second look at them and found they were exactly what I needed, I was still wondering if the would hold my speakers. I got them up and tested them, Yup, there strong enough, just needed stud to tap into, I found enough for the two front holes, used the back with the anchors, those speakers aren’t going anyplace. I have key hole type speakers, but I can see this working with 1 hole threaded speakers, I don’t want to put any holes in my speakers, I wanted to use what they gave me on the back. Klipsch speaker’s have either key hole or one threaded screw holes for mounting the small surrounds, but ATMOS speakers came the key hole type. I guess they were made to be placed on top of my towers and bounce off the ceiling. I used them this way for over a year until I realized through UTube advance, that configuration was no good. I thought bouncing off the ceiling was how it’s done unless you have them installed in the ceiling. I am not ready for that yet, This will do very nicely for now. In 2 years I plan to upgrade to 7.4.2. That’s a total of 13 channels if pure glory. With this installation I just finished I’m at 7.2.2 and loving it, my new Marantz 7 channel Amp coming soon to take over the load of my Marantz SR7010 AVR. I wanted to Give this speaker mounts 3 thumbs up, if you are willing to put time in, be a little creative with mounting and can find a wood stud to tap into, then theses are the mounts for you. As of 10/3/2020 my mounts failed, I put to much weight on them so they didn’t stay up 90 degrees anymore, so I came up with a fix, I tightened them down and attached a wire from the speaker to the bracket with a small screw on the speaker and bracket. I made sure before I tightened and secured the wire the speaker was at 90 degrees angle. The wire kept the speaker upright and I don’t see any further problems with the speaker dropping anytime soon.
