Can I use a non-klein third-party Cat6a rj45 pass through jack in this tool and still retain a high quality "Cat6a" termination?

Yes; standard RJ45 mod ends with pass through will work on this crimper (at least the several different brands that I have tried all worked)

suitable for cat 6 cable with a conductor for poe?

If it is 23AWG cable, be prepared to fight really hard. I got this to make crimping connectors easier and they are so tight, im not sure how anyone actually gets a 23 gauge wire through them. Better go with CAT6a's unless you are going to be using 24awg cable.

Will this work with non-passthrough rj45 ends?

This DOES work with standard (non- pass through) jacks. They probably put that on the packaging so you buy their brand of RJ45s

Do all vdv226-005 have the same issue? not able to remove the connector without using another tool (small screwdriver) to push down the clip?

Once the handle is all the way opened, just pull on the cable or push the plug from the other side. There is nothing catching the clip..
