Badia Minced Garlic, 8 oz

This is my favorite minced garlic in a jar. While I prefer fresh garlic, this is a great substitute when I'm out and don't want to drive 20 minute to the nearest grocery store. Smells great, stays fresh in the fridge. It sautes nicely and adds good flavor to any dish. Decent price and much more convenient to buy from Amazon, since the closest retailer to me that sells it is an hour away!

This is a really great fridge stable minced garlic. It is not to sour form the preservatives and stays fresh for quite a long time in the fridge. The color is a bit on the toasted garlic side (even though it is not cooked) but at least it is not brown and ugly. It tastes close enough to fresh garlic in soups and pastas and even makes a serviceable homemade garlic butter cheese bread. It definitely smells like fresh garlic when you are cooking with it. I just wouldn't use it in anything you don't cook before eating. For that I feel you need actual fresh garlic to pull of a dish like that. This is definitely going to be a fridge staple for me because it is so good and makes cooking with garlic way easier. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an almost fresh garlic alternative for cooking on a daily basis.

I think Badia makes some of the best spices out there. I buy them in bulk because I use them so often. But, I found this garlic didn't have much flavor and was much more coarsely cut than I would have expected. If you like a courser, chunkier cut then this is perfect for you.

It's hard to use powder once you use minced garlic. Just opening the har fills the kitchen with the worthy aroma of pungent garlic.

Even Olympic athletes in old day Greece used garlic to prepare for competition. Current research is studying the possibility that garlic may help in some types of cancer. While there are many forms of garlic available to buy, I really like this one. It is always ready to use; I don't have to clean and prepare it like whole cloves; it lasts a long time in the frig. This garlic is reasonably priced for the volume and ready to use state. The taste of the minced (not dehydrated garlic) is much better than garlic powder or dried garlic. I feel like this is next best form to using fresh garlic cloves. To me, it cooks better since it isn't powdered and it seems like more of the nutrients survive this packaging process. This is perfect to use in seasoning meats and we enjoy it with veggies, lightly tossed in a skillet with some olive oil and onion. It's great for stir fry as well. The price is reasonable and consistency is easy to enjoy in all the dishes we prepare. Good product for quick convenient meal prep.

First of all it is really small. This size should not be no more than 3 to 4 bucks. And it was somewhat open and smelly, I cannot even return it.
