I had messaged Vortex prior to ordering here because they have the best customer service anywhere. So if you’re not sure which size you’ll need, just email them and they’ll help. But they recommended I get the 0-40 and e-10 flip caps for my DiamondBack HP 4-16x42 and it’s a good snug fit on my scope, like I wanted:) I prefer them to be snug like they are, so I won’t have to worry about them falling off. I HIGHLY recommend these flip caps and Vortex to anyone!!

Fits scope great - works great. Easy and stealthy flip compared to standard lens cover that comes with the scope.

The scope cap fit nice and snug on the objective lens of my scope that measured 47.5mm. The cap opens easily with a push of your thumb and it is fairly quiet when it is opening.

These caps perfectly bridge the gap between cheapie thin plastic caps or the seriously expensive heavy duty ones best suited to working or outdoor competition rifles that get beat on a lot. The biggest problem with the cheap plastic caps is they like to break at bad times when you are running around in a competition, perhaps clawing your way thru some underbrush or just generally manhandling the rifle in such a way that those $9 caps don't react well to... Defender caps are MUCH more sturdy than those caps whose name we all know... but they are still inexpensive enough to not hurt the wallet so much. On the other side of the equation, a good set of serious caps for a work or competition rifle can easily run $100. In my case I have a few rifles with SWFA classic scopes that need protection but don't warrant that kind of outlay. These Vortex caps are perfect for lower-cost, heavy-use kind of scopes. I don't even bother considering the cheap caps anymore. These are my basic go-to's now.
