Bulk pricing, excellent shelf life, dependable cleansing performance. What could possibly go wrong?Five years later, I still have soap.Unfortunately, I may soon no longer have a wife.You see, my wife apparently wanted fancy soap. Artisanal soap. Soap that smells like lavender fields and emotional fulfillment. Unbeknownst to me, my extensive Irish Spring inventory had created an oppressive atmosphere in which purchasing alternative soap felt unnecessary, wasteful, or somehow forbidden.I never explicitly prohibited the purchase of other soaps. I simply maintained sufficient inventory to meet the hygiene needs of a small military installation.In hindsight, this may have communicated the wrong message.My wife recently informed me that she never felt free to buy the soap she actually wanted.I have since purchased her fancy soap in an attempt to address this historical injustice.The divorce, however, appears to be proceeding as scheduled.Pros:Excellent value for money.Cleans effectively.Five-year supply apparently achievable.Inventory has outlasted several major life milestones.Product remains available despite catastrophic changes in household structure.Cons:May inadvertently establish a household soap monopoly.Wife may interpret bulk purchasing as a lifelong commitment to mediocre hygiene products.Potentially devastating impact on marital satisfaction.Extremely difficult to explain to a divorce mediator.Final verdict:Would absolutely recommend for bachelors, military barracks, and emergency preparedness enthusiasts.Married customers should exercise extreme caution.Five stars for longevity. One star for relationship compatibility.TL;DR: Came for the savings. Stayed for the soap. Wife did not.
