Outside Micrometer, Ultra-Precision Carbide Tipped Measuring Tool

I have a 0-1" micrometer; an approximately 130 year-old Brown & Sharpe micrometer I've been using for 50 years. It still works and I trust it to +/- 0.0002." And the extra ten-thousandth is only because it's a friction thimble and human error is what it is. When I first opened the REXBETI 014 and tried it out, it was no better than +/- 0.8 mil. It was all over the place. But it was all over the place in a range that for $40 is pretty good. However, it's not what I paid for, so I wrapped it back up and applied to return it. Then, tonight, I decided to make a video to demonstrate how beyond the ad's claim it is. And for everything I did with it for that video, it actually performed within spec. (The vid sucks, so it's not attached.) I can't explain it why aging it a week made it right. If you don't mind a cheap feel, and having to pick up pieces from the floor when the speeder cames off, you can't beat it. I had already plopped my money down on a 293-344, so there's no going back. But if I hadn't, I'd have had a hard time not telling myself to get over the feel of it and just appreciate the way it functions.

I have a few fancy expensive micrometers that I don't really like to always use. I picked this up as my go-to / travel micrometer. Very happy with it so far! Yes it has more plastic parts than the expensive ones. But it doesn't really feel cheap and the important part seem to be quality metal. Now for the more important part, how accurate is it. I have a few accurate micrometer calibration rods, it's dead on on all of them. Will it stay that way, only time will tell. So far after several months of use, it's staying accurate and I still haven't had to put new batteries in it. If I ever need another cheaper but not cheap micrometer, I think I'll pick up another one.

I had been considering picking up an electric digital micrometer for several years, but was unsure of their quality and accuracy. This one became available last week during Prime Days at an attractive price. My concern was whether or not it would hold its zero or if it would have to be re-zeroed every time I used it. After zeroing it the first time I checked it against a 1 inch standard and it was right on. It has stayed zeroed over several use sessions, so it seems OK and doesn’t have to be constantly re-zeroed.

I've used many brands of micrometers and these are good ones. They don't have the high cost of some of the other brands, but have all of the features that I need. Readings seem repeatable and reproducible. I'm not going to get them ISO 17025 or ANSI Z540 calibrated (lol) as they are for home use. Stainless steel used where it counts. Nice display. Extra battery. Good case. A win for a tool at this price.

I have 3 of these. They're different brands and differ slightly in their appearance (perhaps not made in the same factory). I get exact results on proof blocks, reliably, from all three. No math, no conversions, just accurate measurements that move my work forward, SAE or metric. I've never changed a battery; they work in sub-freezing and sweltering conditions; easy (intuitive) to use and read. We used to deride Japanese tools in the 70's, then we all clamored for Toyotas and Yamahas. Chinese manufacturing has turned that same corner. Buy their stuff while it's cheap.

Very accurate, good quality. Easy to read display. I use this as my go to micrometer now.

Buenas tardes. Compre este artículo pero tengo dudas de su medición. Cuando lo quiero poner en 0 sigue avanzando hasta ser negativo el número. Cómo puedo saber hasta cuando llega al 0 real? Estoy aplicando mucho torque en la perilla o no debe suceder eso?

Me gusta que es muy fácil su uso y te da la medida exacta del espesor de los productos

La calidad no es para volverse loco pero si nos ha servido bien.
