Transporter Roll Top Commuter Backpack, Pine Leaf

Sturdy and well constructed backpack. We do a lot of camping and we don’t let the rain keep us away! This is perfect for those rainy day hikes. It’s also good to keep things in during those humid and dew filled evenings in the tent. Everything stays nice and dry for us. It’s very comfortable and it fits a surprising amount of things. Very sleek and stylish and easy to organize all your stuff for the day.

Got this backpack to use as a sort of day pack for short excursions, theme parks, short hikes, and the like, and I'm super happy with it! Osprey knocked it out of the park with this pack design for my use case, and I'm looking forward to continuing to use the bag for my day trips. The main storage compartment is combined with the roll top, and being my first roll top bag, I wasn't sure how I'd like it, but it turns out, the convenience is high. With the roll top, it lets you fit things of all different sizes in the bag, including things that are much too tall for the bag, and still secure them. As far as the other pockets go, there are a lot of options, including a laptop sleeve, water bottle pockets, and some more internal sleeves. The front zippered pocket has an asymmetric zipper on it, which is actually a really nice feature since you can always find where it is. Inside that, there are smaller segmented pockets including a clip for your keys, which is really well thought-out. Behind that, between the roll top and the zippered pocket, there is another non-sealed area that you could store some miscellaneous items. My favorite feature is definitely the water bottle pockets, because this is always overlooked on other backpacks. The best part of it is that they both fit a nalgene or a full size hydroflask. Unfortunately, it does not fit a 40oz, but either / both will fit 30 or 32 oz bottles, and this is amazing because most of the time I struggle to fit these bottles in my backpacks at all. Additionally, its very easy to slide them in and take them out. The weatherproofing of the bag is pretty good too, and has good water resistant fabric. It doesn't have a rain cover since its a roll top, and I'm not sure how well the zippers are sealed, but I would feel relatively safe using it in light rain. When I first put it on, I thought the shoulder straps were a bit harsh, but as I wore it more, I realized they are actually really well made and very comfortable. The same goes for the back, which actually has some structure to it, rather than it being a floppy mess (like many other bags). It has an air channel to let your back get some breeze, and has great padding. I wore this at a theme park for an entire 9hr and did not have any shoulder or back pain, so it's a win in my books. Osprey commands a somewhat premium price, but for this bag in particular, I think its worth it.

Everything feels durable yet comfortable—a balance that’s hard to find in many backpacks. It’s perfect for all my daily essentials. It comfortably fits my laptops, a small portable screen, and all the cords and cables I need to tote around without feeling overly bulky. One of my favorite features is how the bag is basically waterproof—I don’t have to worry about my electronics getting wet, even if I’m caught in a sudden downpour. That peace of mind alone makes this bag worth it. The roll-top design is genius, really. It’s not just stylish—it’s super practical! I can use it to store taller items if needed, giving me more flexibility than a typical backpack. And there’s this great feature that lets you access your laptop directly from the outside of the bag—such a smart and thoughtful innovation. I love when bags make life easier like this. That said, I do wish there was just a little more room inside after fitting my laptops. But honestly, the roll-top compensates for that because it gives me vertical storage space, which most backpacks don’t offer. The water bottle pockets on either side are also a nice touch—they’re big enough to comfortably hold one or two reasonably sized bottles, so I’m always hydrated. Plus, there’s this handy open pocket on the outside where I stash my rain jacket. It’s so convenient for when the weather turns unexpectedly, especially in the spring and summer. Another thing I’ve noticed is how the bag seems to adapt over time. The straps and materials have loosened up a bit, making it even more comfortable the longer I’ve been using it. You can tell it’s designed with everyday use in mind. Overall, the quality and functionality give me confidence that it’ll last for years to come. I’m really excited to see how it holds up because I plan to be in it for the long haul!
